So i get all these 4x4 magazines and the last two issues have been going on and on about the 5th Gen 4runners!!! They crowned the 2015 the best 4x4 of the year!! Pretty impressive too me. I have been looking at them the last couple days and man they are pretty sweet rigs! the off-road cruise control has to be one of the neatest features! Don't even get me started on the aftermarket available already for the 2015 model... I would say it easily competes with the Jeeps aftermarket. As my 06 h3 is creeping up on 100k miles and just graduating college I could see this replacing my hummer nicely!! I personally do not know anybody with one or personally seen it in action off-road, but was wondering what yalls take on it being so similar to the h3's concept of being luxury/offroad capable?

Couldn't find any info on the approach and departure angles or the flex. All I could find is the offroad cruise control and the 270hp engine with a rear locking diff.

I have gone out with 4 different 5th fen rigs, they are pretty sweet and I would say they are a great option if your looking to drop a lot of cash on an offroad rig

X2 on what Ramrod said. They are very nice especially the TRD pro edition but they are VERY pricey. But if u can afford it I say go for it

yea the price range is very large from 30k to the most expensive being just north of 40k... but if you look at the trend of suv's it actually pretty cheap. I mean tahoes went from an affordable midclass family suv to being 70k and out of reach for most!! I would wait a year get one used if anything cause buying new is just not worth it with transferable warranties. Its a family suv that seems to be very capable off road and with the aftermarket it has you could easily keep up with the best of them. I think its a nice options for people who like hummers but want a new vehicle IMO!!

Haven't paid any attention to them. Generally buy American, especially when buying trucks. Hard for trucks to get great approach and departure angles with the overhang they seem to need. If you aren't climbing rocks and ledges it might not matter much. Our H3 has 112K on the clock. Still going strong but likely looking for another DD for the wife soon. She loves the 3 so at this point we will be keeping it and just getting her another ride.

they are pretty cool, but replace the hummer? i don't think so.

X2 I can't seem myself to ever replacing my H3. Even if I totaled it or roll it over...I'd keep it and work on it to bring her back to life...me and my wife already agree if we ever roll panzer over and we survive we chopping the top down and making it i to a soft top like the H1's lol great for the cali summer.

Mines here to stay....and 40 years from now when everyone is driving panzi fiats and priuses, I'll open up the garage and fire that bad boy v8 up and rule the road!!

And the neighbors will whisper to each other....you see the monster old man geary has in his garage??

And the kids will say....I heard old man geary hunts you down in his H3 and teaches you how to drive if he catches you driving like an idiot.

I can dream no?
