06h3 yes sometimes I would like the in cab controller just so I would not have to get out the portable air compressor. And I think that jeep has the AiRock suspension kit that I had seen on the trail sold by Off Road Only, If I did a straight axle conversion I would use something like it.

You have done your studying! That is the airock kit

I have had my h1 bagged since '07 and like it (not sure I "love" it). Though for me, the benefits of being on bags only slightly outweigh the pain in the ass of dealing with an air system. Once I get a block of time free I need to completely re-do my airlines and in-cab control or go back to springs. Need to weigh the cost vs benefit.

I wouldn't worry about blowing a bag (unless you over-inflate it) -- they are like tire sidewalls and pretty tough. I am more concerned with the fittings and lines themselves and finding that weak link in the system while at 35 degrees sideways...then rolling down a ravine! Leveling the vehicle is a bit more challenging with ifs/irs that it is with a solid axle but not a big deal once you get the hang of it (if fully manual). I do not have experience with a computer controlled system, but I imagine they are pretty fast correcting (as long as you are moving if you have independent susp).

I have been waiting to get some shop time to install my airbag system on my H2. I got all the parts from airbagit.com, including an in-cab controller, etc.. I already have the tank and compressor installed, just need to find a place to mount the rest of the electronics and get the brackets installed. Airbagit sent me an extra airbag for free to keep as a trail spare, but told me I most likely would never need it, because the bags are super strong. I also have some schrader valves that I can install inline of each bag, after a check valve and the solenoids, so if the electronics fail I can still put air in the bags with the compressor. I'll get everything installed one day, but its not high on my priority list.

Ron, the biggest concern I had was the bags unloading to fast when off camber, but airbagit told me that they will not unload any faster than the coil springs if they are under pressure.

Is this for the rear only?

Front and rear! Here is a pic of the new front UCA with a replaceable Moog balljoint and the upper bag mount that I need to weld to the frame. Its definately a work in progress and why I am not in a hurry.

There is no real kit for this, so its been in the works for quite some time. I need to figure out where to mount the shocks since the new bag braket and UCA eliminates the shock in the factory location. I have a pair of fabtech dual shock hoops, but need to fit up the brackets to confrim I can make them work. Anyway, here are a couple more pics with the tank before I finished all the plumbing.

How will you have the bags plumbed? I did each one individually for safety reasons, though I know some who plumbed the right/left together. I thought that would be dangerous when on side slopes. You may have to put in some limit straps (not sure how the h2 suspension is limited but the shocks are the limiting factor on the h1).

I also had to relocate the shocks like you will (recent pics in my build thread). The relocation fab work and the shocks were the costliest part of this mod for me. I went with digi gauges...I have to run at or near 200psi and finding a decent analog dual needle gauge was next to impossible.

You will notice a difference in ride immediately. The variable height is nice.

Its been a big pain in my ass for the last two years, but I wanted to take my time with this setup planning, etc. Before paying some numb nutz to start cutting/welding stuff up. I am plumbing each bag indivdually and agree for saftey sake I do not want the right/left plumbed together. I have a electronically controlled solenoid valve for each bag that will be controlled via an in cab controlled that shows a digital pressure reading for each bag as well as the tank. Each valve can be controlled independently, just front, just rear, or all together.

I plan on cutting out the factory bump stops that limit up down movement of the IFS and will install a set of fox bump stops with limit straps.

Here is the controller I am Using

Pair of solenoid valves look something like this, except my pressure transducer is built in

I tried to keep my set up very simple and as manual as possible. I just have 4 pneumatic swtches on the dash, a 200 psi viair and a 5 gal tank. Actually works well, but need to completely re-do the airlines with braided and build a console for the switches in a different location. I tried to keep electtonics out of the mix for reliability paranoia.

There is so little travel with the h1's suspension that bumpstops were tricky...and would almosts always be making contact. Still don't have them...but the shocks are now beefy enough to hold the weight of the truck and the bags I use (slam specialties) are pretty hard core and have built in bumps

Love to see your work in progress so post pics!

I'll get some pics up when I get back into this project and do a full build thread on it. Currently looking for another vehicle for a daily driver to give me some time to tear down and work on the truck.

yes, but I'd do it right the first time. It has become quite an expensive mod because of experimentation, screw ups and do-overs.
