Transmission is all buttoned up, plugged in my laptop and started the scanner before starting the engine. Huzzah! Right away the ISS was registering RPM's. It was definitely the sensor had failed. Took it for a test drive after making sure it was topped off and it's driving great again.

Now to get the UCP back on tomorrow and the CB antenna mounted and get everything packed up to head down Sunday. Not 100% certain when we'll get there but it will probably be in the afternoon. See you guys soon!

Getting an alignment today, all I have to do now is change the transfer case and rear diff fluids.

Then pack up the truck! Can’t wait to get up there Monday evening!

Well I’m out on Moab unfortunately and super bummed. I went and got an alignment and tire rotation right before I left. About an hour into the trip the H3 started shaking really hard going about 75 on the freeway so I started to pull over. Then a really loud pop happened and the H3 started riding really rough so I though I had a blow. However, as it turns out my rear passenger wheel had broke off all the studs from the hub and the brake rotor was sitting on the rim. Apparently the tire place I went to either didn’t tighten the bolts enough or over tighten way to much by just wailing on it with an impact. Very fortunate that no one was injured as it could have been really bad losing a wheel going down the freeway. The tire place is paying fixing it but parts won’t be in until Monday/Tuesday

Can you grab some AutoZone wheel studs and Lugnuts and a few extra nuts and pull the studs in using the nuts on a tire wrench? Optimally you want them pressed in but they can be pulled in if you’ve got a long breaker bar and an impact socket.

Dude, that sucks. They must have overtorqued them for them all to break like that. Probably grabbed the wrong torque bar, or didn't use one and impacted them on. I've had loose lugnuts before, the wheel ended up falling off but the studs were all still there. This wasn't an H3 though and not at highway speed.

Seems lame they can't source those studs, they're pretty standard I would think. I'd push on them hard since you are supposed to be taking a vacation and this has left you stranded.

The Alpha is finally packed up and ready. Probably bringing too much but oh well. Just need to get myself packed up and then get everyone in the vehicles and head down. We probably will be into town after 7pm.

Made it through the wedding in NY, I fly out 9am EST, can’t wait!

Had 2 covid tests so far and both have been negative

Made it to moab, minor issues with fluids along the way, nothing that should cause issue on the trail hopefully!

Transmission burped a bunch of fluid out when we first started heading over the mountains, I don't think it liked the pressure change and what not. Took it easy after that and made it.

Jakez28, I've got your hilift at our condo, let me know whenever you want to come pick it up.

Made it into town just after 8pm. All settled now and ready for tomorrow. I brought spares I hopefully won't need: L/R upper A-arms, steering rack, front prop shaft, front intermediate shaft, 3 front CV axles, fan clutch and belt and tensioner (for the 5.3). Leaving the prop shaft and steering rack at the condo, figure we can run back and grab them if anyone needs them. Also have fluids for almost everything.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

I see Vay (Red overland H3) had to stay on the trail overnight...saw it on IG. Hope he gets it out today!
