Yes, regearing will bring back some of that mpg lost, and even better, some of that lost power, but you can only go up to 4.56!

I would save up for a front locker before I did that. I'm really considering going with the H1 style rims with rock rings

i'm still reading about the military tires and the different choices. It seems as though the main factor in blow out are the actual age of the tire. There are codes where you can find the year made. I may give trailworthyfab a call and ask about warranty and the codes. But if cooper stt's are 280$ a pop those will definitely be the choce.

Im running cooper at3, done 30k miles on em and barely any wear, I think I can get over 100K miles from em which is ridiculous!!! So the STTs or the ST/Maxxx shouldnt be far behind!

I was looking into this a lot last night and theres three tires offered by interco that would be an option to put on them, thats all I've found so far besides the military tires. Whats the code on the stt's that will fit the rims? I didn't find any, Im trying to stick to 35s because I have a lack of power and lift currently but if I must I'd do the lift to fit 37s.

I did find these though, they look pretty good to me, and a reasonable price too. They're 35s though

37s:

Im pretty sure im gonna take the plunge, just gotta decide on a tire. Do you know what the standard rock ring looks like? Im leaning towards the half rock ring cause i still wanna see the rim, but idk what the standard one looks like.

Those are the STTs,

http://www.treaddepot.com/tire/90000003142.html

They weigh 84# each, thats 5 extra over the ST/Maxxx (it will translate to lower mpg, slower acc and stop and more strain on the front diff)

Once I get my truck back and im satisfied with the repairs, a rancho and the ST/maxxx are the first on my todo list!

I talked to the guy who owns the offroad shop I went to for the lift. He knows alot of people running millitary tires, and he thinks they're great. He just said to make sure the H1 rims are re-centered.

why? can't we run them as they are with the adapter?

I have no idea, but trailworthyfab already re-centers them. By the way, they have plenty of great reviews on their rim/tire combo on pirate 4x4. I'm going to call them tomorrow for more information.

ahh okay good, no worries then. Yeah keep me updated with what they say. And yeah, theres more tire options too, the Mt/r with the side wall protection looks like a good deal, even though its only 75% compared to the 90% ones there

Even at 75% I think they still good for the price...the only one I wouldn't recommend is the radial...but the mt/r's seem promising.

Yeah I'm either doing that combo or just the rims and waiting for tires.

Yeah I'm tempted for the rims too, specially since they do the re-center and do all the setting up...but the only thing discouraging me is the weight...I'll just sit here and watch the report on this ones, from fellow member. I'm still miles away from needing tires.

I need tires soon. I just can't run 37s at the moment. No lift. So I have a dilemma.

Then I'll say just work with what you got for now and get some new tires...and while those wear down save for the lift... At the same time you can get feed back from fellow member derian or. Whoever end up getting them and running them.

I would pick up 17" rims if I wanted to run 37's... So much selection

I am very limited in my choice of tires in the 37" range for my 16" Hutchinsons.

Those military take offs are cheap, and after doing research, you'll quickly find out why... The TW setup will run 135lbs and up...

Then again the Hutchinsons will prob come to about 110-120/wheel and tire

yeah i don't think theres a way around weight, my other tire option is 115 for tire and rim so

My only question, if this is such a really good deal. Why isn't anyone around here running them already? These tire deals have been around for years. The H1 guys I know, that run that tire size, won't touch them. Wonder why?

Because alot of them are terrible on and offroad and most are prone to blow outs. It turns out the custom h1 rims are 200$ and then tires are extra. But you can tell from all this dudes reviews on pirate 4x4 he doesn't pick up all the ****ty ones and he actually uses the nice ones. You also have to remember our rigs don't weigh nearly as much as an H1. Now that the rim/tire combo I thought was 200$ is actually 400$ there is no way i'm going this route. But until someone actually trys his products, I wouldn't immediately shut him down. Obviously if he has so many good reviews, people are enjoying the product, and they're not having all of the problems alot of people encounter with this combination.

I'm just sticking with the km2's until I can get some cheap rims and cooper stt's or one of the choices 06H3 gave us.
