Have you spoken to the team at Rod Hall lately? I don't see the Fox shocks on their website and no replies to emails about them. I'm going to give them a call soon because this is likely my next upgrade but I am afraid they no longer carry them :(

Yes but we didn't talk about Hummers or shocks.

Same issue I had, no reply to my emails when asking about them

I contacted Fox to see if they have any information on the RHP Fox shocks. If not, Does anyone have RHP shocks available. with the part number and valve numbers on the shock body we may be able to order them from Fox, unless RHP tore apart and revalved the Fox shocks in house.

I have had some luck contacting Rod Hall Racing in recent months and dropped them a note too. I will keep you guys posted.

Go straight to Fox's website and call them. They still show them on their site. Ask them to valve the rear with the JK rear valving - both compression and rebound. http://www.ridefox.com/product.php?...ocks&year=2010-2006&position=Rear&m=truck&p=1

There are a few teams from Canada...hmmm

4400, 4600, 4500?

I'll try and find out on Friday when I go over to pick up the bent-up tubing, we just got talking about the race when the other phone line started to ring with a call he had been waiting for all day

Here is what I got back. I have also asked for clarification on their Race H3s to see if we can get any information on their valving / shock size choice as reference.

Chad Hall says "The reservoir shocks are no longer available. They have an IFP. The Fox shocks are non remote reservoir. They are $ 127.50 each.

By non remote I think he means Piggy Back, and I don't know what IFP stands for. (Edit - It's a smooth body like the Bilstein). No remote or Piggy back available via the catalog.

Anyway, if the Rod Hall H3 "brand" shocks are no longer available, it just means you need to go through fox to have them built. All this entails is having a stud and the top and a clevis at the bottom for the front, and having a double eye for the rear with a bar pin eliminator.

The valving was stock shock valving (IIRC) - nothing fancy, and I can tell you they normally won't give that info out. You'd need to buy a set and pull out the packs to know.

More info from RHR.

Per Chad Hall "The shocks that use to be on our web site are no longer available. There was an issue, if the shocks were installed wrong, the mounting pin would break. Fox had too many warranties and will no longer build us the shock.

The race H3s use custom 3.5" and 4.0" external bypass shocks from Fox."

That was me LOL...mine broke and Rod himself sent it back to Fox to get fixed. I though I was the only Moron to break it off....well, I guess not LOL!!!

I broke it off installing it, then Sam at Samco had to weld it back on....only guy I know who can weld on a fully charged shock body :)

OK everyone point a finger at bebe, she is the reason we can't buy RHP Fox Shocks anymore!

Wow, Sam has some you know whats...

PS, I am starting to make some plans on new UCAs and a cantilever shock set up for the rear, but I doubt any progress will be made until spring when the car can come back out again

in those pics it looks like he didnt trim the UCA stopper. Maybe I just missed it, but he did to achieve 8in of travel right?

You have to look at each pic closely, one thing Sam doesn't do well is narrate (bless his heart). The bumps for the UCA are removed. Keep in mind 2.0" inboard of travel is a very different number outboard. At full droop you have to see how much of the shock shaft is visible.

I think you sent that one to me before Bebe. Same ideas I was tossing around before, but more than what I could / can get into....

Why did he keep the lower control arm bumpstop? Looks like his shocks had a bump stop also. I do like the triple bypass he has there!

I was thinking of trimimg the UCA stop also, do we know if there are any binding conditions between the controls arms and knuckles? I have not had a chance to look yet, doesn't look like the UCA touches the knuckle in full droop.

Bebe, did you use iniball type set ups on your truck? How much longer were your control arms over stock?

Got into contact with Baja kits about a long travel kit.... Here's what they said....

However if you are able to organize 5 people for a Group buy each with a 20% deposit we will start development of a new kit. Engineering and prototyping new kits will take between a minimum of 90 days from time of deposit up to 180 days depending on scope of the project.

Interesting.... but I wonder what the cost would be?

Brenthel / Baja Kits makes some great stuff from what I know, and like most places, has a successful motorsports team

Cool. They do build great stuff. There have a great Raptor LT.

They also built a JK LT that converts the front to IFS

No, we use 7/8" heims, and 1 1/4" heims.

So true. I would never try a high-speed pass over rough terrain. Sky-ground-sky-ground-sky-ground.

I think with money you can make a high speed SA setup and a good rock crawling IFS setup. It just takes more money then I have. you can make anything work with money...
