H3 H3 starter issues

My 08 base with I5 has hit me twice with a starter issue where the vehicle will not crank at all but after it sits for a maybe a hour it starts fine. The last time it did this to me was about a month ago and has been working every since without any issues. I have checked all connections and also the battery. I can hear the starter relay clicking when the key is turned to crank but that's it. It has about 80,000 miles on it.

Are you sure the passlock is not coming on? When it won't start, do you see a red lock on the instrument cluster?

Didn't check that I was running late for work and just left it at home. Sad part about is I'm sure it's going to start when I get home.

Most likely it's the passlock, mine did the same thing a couple months ago. Apparently if you just wait 10 minutes for it to clear it should start again. Might be your ignition cylinder acting up.

Got home from work and it started every time.

Next time that happens, pay attention to the dash and check if the red security light is on. If it is, it is the dreaded passlock. The best fix is to have the PCM programmed to ignore it. There is no rhythm for the fault, it will act up when ever it wants to and leave you stranded cussing your 3 out. I know, I've been there and have been passlock free for a few years now.
