I would like a 2 door version with a bit longer bed in the low 30s. My brothers got a JLU sport S with a Dana 44 rear end and it’s a pretty sweet ride not gonna lie. The Jeep lift with Fox shocks and 35s. One thing is the gearing on any non rubicon isn’t all that great. Also I like the looks of the hummers better.

Ps Doug demuro did a great review of a new Gladiator Rubicon on his YouTube if anyone has 30 minutes to kill. He said they’re coming out with a diesel with 300 something horsepower and 440lbft.

60K. For a Wrangler. Riiiiiiiiight. I could buy three H3's, spend 10k on each and cut the top off of one and toss the doors for that open air thing if I wanted and not even feel bad about doing it.

Or if you have to have a wrangler. Get a base one for about 35k, and spend 10k on mods and still save 15k off a rubicon. I swear cars these days can double their base price in options way too easily.

Our H3s would be over 50 now if they were still out there. Add a few more 1000 for key mods. A decently built Rubicon is mid 50s to 60s. It's all crazy money now.

Oh I can't wait to park next to one - it better be red too!

Wiki: "In the U.S. alone, over 2400 dealerships hold franchise rights to sell Jeep-branded vehicles..." and that was 2017.

Even if there are only 500 more dealers world wide, if each dealership is forced to buy just two they will have made more Gladiators before launch than all the H3T's ever made.

Truck prices have gone from wow that's expensive to utterly ridiculous in the last decade. It's real easy to option out a 60k+ truck before adding any aftermarket. Even a mid size truck like the ZR2 is 50k.
Far too many people running around in 900$x84 month loans for lifted grocery getters.

I think they are pretty cool, hell I'd even consider getting one. This has made me want to find a H3T though but i would be using it as a commuter and in my experience they arent very good for that lol

Motor Trend has a first look at the Gladiator in the current issue (5/19). According to them, it's not an extended Wrangler frame, but a newer stronger frame. Also, the rear suspension was adopted ..at least in principle from the Ram 1500, if not the parts (i.e. coils). The fact that it has a solid Dana 44 up front means something. If nothing else, it might coax GM into bringing out their own Colorado-based 'Gladiator-killer' (which might even look like a Hummer [did GM sell or destroy Hummer tooling??]) ....possibly with a solid front axle.

FCA has been on a tear the last number of years refining the Ram pickup. As a GM-leaning guy, I had my sights set on a replacement GM pickup. After looking at the landscape of trucks, and wanting to get into a GM, I concluded Ram really had (and I think still HAS) the best product out there ...at least for me. Just a lot of little details they seem to get right. Not only that, FCA has been uber-aggressive on building marketshare one deal at a time. Ram owners will tell you (just puruse the Ram forums), that GM and Ford dealers don't seem to have the ability to deal as aggressively as Ram dealers. While a pick-up may be priced at $55k, it's not uncommon for Ram guys to pay $42k or less. Whereas they weren't getting nearly the deals from GM. For the moment that sort of dealing has been relaxed as the new Rams have been selling well. But historically that's what Ram owners have been seeing.

It remains to be seen wheather that will be the case with the Gladiator, but after the initial excitement is gone, they might go into the 'dealing' mode. Have to wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised at some point in the future Jeep brings out a more affordable Gladiator to boost sales. I'd like to see a regular-cab version.

If Land Rover had enough foresight they'd have resurrected the Defender and been a Jeep-killer. Obviously there's a market for it at the moment. By the time they get there, the moment will have probably passed.

My dad is in the market for a full sized truck and I’m helping him out on the research end of things and we keep coming back to Ram. Off-road group and tow package on a 5.7 crew cab with come nice amenities can be had for under 40k. Its tough to beat. He likes the look of the new GMs but the value of the ram is tough to beat.

Though I am biased, I think the capable midsize market trend is pretty cool right now. I do miss being able to buy a midsize with a V8, but solving that problem with a salvage 6.4 in a used Gladiator on tons on 40s would be a lot of fun (and time+work). I would also "settle" for a ZR2 with a 6.2.
