Led bars!!!!!

Just read through all 9 pages. I see the brackets attach with one bolt on each side. While the bars themselves look very nice at a great price my concern is the mounting brackets. No one is worried about their LED bars just "walking off"? I mean 2 bolts, snip the wires and see ya. Anyways I am thinking about replacing all my roof rack lights with these bars so I'll PM you once I get all my measurements.

I was thinking about how I could make mine safer, right now allen keys are on there currently, not as many people have a set readily handy... maybe I should switch to torx haha..... what else could a guy do to make it safer??

I haven't looked but I bet somebody makes bolts that take a special adapter to loosen or tighten, kind of like the special lug nuts people use on their rims.

I worry all the time about my u-steps, they don't even need tools to remove and their going for over $1000 on eBay

After I had my chemical stripped and repowdercoated I used giant grade 8 black phos coated bolts and washers. Slathered them with RED loctite so it'd take a torch to get them off. I wasn't chancing anything with them and I got mine for only $400 lol.

Those would definitely seem safer, problem is finding the same thread count/pattern but that would be the best bet.

Question for you guys. I have 8 lights on the front of my GOBI stealth. Do you think I should run 1 giant LED bar across the front of the whole thing or 4 individual 12" bars? Opinions?

I havent plugged mine in yet to test it but it feels well built and looks nice.

And LoJac963, I personally would go with one giant LED bar, you would probably get more light and it will look cleaner.

Pff I have 8 individual lights up there now and 2 rears so 10 total. The bundle of wiring is probably over an inch thick lol.

Okay, so I do like the price and the idea of getting some bars, but will there ever be any single row style light bars available? If a slim profile design were available for the price I would not hesitate. Just like the looks better.

They tried carrying the single row leds, but there was not enough interest in them, so they discontinued the single row bars and went with the dual rows.​

thanks guys :cheers: they are extremely bright, last night I drove around with them on and no body flashed me and I drove past several cops and they didn't do anything! Next project is going to bed the headlights:wink:

haha thanks do it !! I was smiling ear to ear when I finally turned these on and realized how bright they are lol

heres a pic of an h2 with the 4" leds in the fogs, they are a direct bolt up for the h2s according to the owner of the led company. (disregard the chrome)

I did that a couple weeks ago and unlike the one above mine are actually centered. I have build threads around if anyone is interested on the mounting of the lights. Mine are only 18 watt but still ridiculously bright but I still use them as my DRL's and no one has made a stink.

also I was referring to the H2 with all the chrome above. Almost all these aftermarket LED lights have heatsink fins on the back because they things do get pretty toasty without air moving over them. I was going to mount them like the one above but I couldn't stand them not being centered. Also if you use the bottom mounting boss like the did the fins will be touching the plastic. I would be worried with how warm they get those fins would start melting into the plastic over time.
