My idle is about the same and if I'm at 68mph I'm around 1900 70 or higher well 2k+. But my engine is in need for a tune up anyways
To a degree, altitude and wind speed/direction will play a good part. If the engine has to work harder to achieve a speed, obviously the rpm's will be higher.
Kinda reminds me of the first time I landed a cessna into a 40 knot head wind. Pretty much came in close to full power and still ground speed was half of what it would have been with idle power and no head wind. Felt like I was landing a helicopter instead of a plane.
