My idle is about the same and if I'm at 68mph I'm around 1900 70 or higher well 2k+. But my engine is in need for a tune up anyways

To a degree, altitude and wind speed/direction will play a good part. If the engine has to work harder to achieve a speed, obviously the rpm's will be higher.

Kinda reminds me of the first time I landed a cessna into a 40 knot head wind. Pretty much came in close to full power and still ground speed was half of what it would have been with idle power and no head wind. Felt like I was landing a helicopter instead of a plane.

I've read a number of times of plugs at 70k being very fouled with widely varying gaps. Did mine two weeks ago at about 71k. Not fouled, but gaps were between 35 and 44. Think they are supposed to be at 41 (from memory).

Engine sounds much better with no more roughness at idle.

340-370miles/tank FWY. 270-290miles/tank CITY.
Stock Hummer H3 Adventure.

I see these numbers regularly when the needle hits the empty mark, BUT I drive the car like I'm 80years old and employ hyper-mile-ing techniques. I always start slow from lights; usually to the annoyance to whomever is behind me. I also cruise on the freeway between 60-65. Cruising on completely flat freeway I usually get 20mpg. If I didn't do this I'd kill myself from the utterly terrible gas mileage.

Call bull**** if you want, but keep in mind these are the most optimal numbers I can achieve. My numbers go way lower as I drive the speed limit or take long trips that involve a lot of elevation changes. I only achieve these regularly because I'm driving slow as **** as much as possible. It wouldn't be unusual to see a semi pass me.

Its not for everyone, but if you're interested start with this Wikipedia page:

I used to feel that way too. If my right foot wasn't glued to the floor I wasn't happy. Guess things change as you get older. I've come to not mind loping around at below the speed limit. Thinking back my wife complains a lot less now a days about the speeds I drive. Think there's a correlation to speed one drives to marital bliss? Too bad I haven't recorded average speed versus # of complaints per car trips over the years. That would be an interesting graph.

im not even married yet and i already know what your talking about, my gf does not stop complaining about my driving when going places. "Omg slow down that car is pulling out, babe that car is 1000 feet in front of us,its alright." Or the whole "really, why are you parking with the front tires on the curb" "why did you put bigger tires on" "NO NO NO NO DONT GO THROUGH THE PUDDLE!" I will admit, i let her drive my 3 the other day and she fell in love with it! Shes kind of stopped complaining!

Kyle,
If her name is Margaret, slip out in the middle of the night and dont come back.
Thats what I did....

Seven years of driving instruction from someone who burned down three homes on accident was enough.

After #2 I started unplugging the oven before I'd leave on business trips. She'd have a friend help pull the oven out and plug it back in.

After #3 I would completely remove the 220 plug and cord and pack it in my suitcase and take it on the trip with me. Security agents at the airport would just laugh their asses off when they asked me what it was and why it was there...

Dont get me wrong, she was a sweet girl, just didnt feel safe going to sleep there...

Havent really had my H3 long enought to have a set per tank milage. but I have been adverging 15-17.5MPG with combined highway and city driving. hoping that on my trip next weekend to be able to suck that 17.5MPG the whole way...... not likely but I can hope. 1600 mile round trip is gonna get costly quick

I get about 280 to 300 avg around town, and 350 per tank if I hold her at 2 grand on the interstate, which is around 60 to 65 mph

Best I've gotten is around 19 mpg..

Winter time - 300-303 miles when my low fuel illuminates.
Warmer weather - 325-335 when low fuel illuminates

Both with mostly driving at 72-75, there is a 10 miles or so stretch, both ways, that I drive 80.

15-17, subtract 1 if not using Shell(locally)

I'm getting around 15 in the city with 33's. Don't drive on the freeway enough to know she gets there.

I just put 35's on H3 and filled up the same day to check mileage difference; I have noticed a significant drop in mileage, I am currently at 145 miles on the tank and little more than a quarter on the gauge, however with the larger tire size making less reves per mile I would think that would make your mileage off if you have not had it adjusted thus giving you less miles per gallon, gauge wise that is I have not driven any differently and I normally fill up every two weeks today is thursday and based on gauge I could go to monday making it two weeks however gauge states differently from what I am use to seeing. Any thoughts on this observation? Oh yeah I was getting around 280 to 300 prior to tire swap gas light coming on around 260-280 depending. I currently use Costco Gas by Kirkland

145 Miles, that's about what I usually get for 1/2 of a gas tank, And I'm Running 315's and TB crank as well. So far I Went Down About 2-3 miles, but I go easy on the accelerator My RPM Cluster's needle rarely goes pass 2,000/2,500 rpm's on city...2,500/3,000 for highway 3,000/3,500 for highway when I'm hills and that just usually to keep the speed and momentum...as Well I usually Gain those 2-3 miles I loose on city when driving highway. so it is safe to say I haven't really been experience that much mpg lost. Perhaps I'll regain those 2-3 miles back when I tune up my PCM for 315, as well get some more horse power or something when I make it for 89 or 91 octane.

I used to care about how far I could go on a tank, then do the math to get the exact MPG..... but then I would get a little bit depressed, but then immediately after getting depressed I would remember that I drive a HUMMER and I have no business being depressed or looking at what my mileage is... I haven't looked back since!
