with Spinners and 20k in stereo :giggle:... just the fact a 93 built for Moab and is in Moab is worth more than a stock truck in florida... even the house adjuster said that the auto adjuster would have no idea what a moab truck is...

Mike said he couldn't do it. He isn't an appraiser. He said you just have to keep fighting them. Check Craig's List, EBay listings etc

i'm probably hiring a private adjustment company from SLC to represent me. they make 10% but usually get you 30-50% more than the Ins. offer. still need to do some research before we pull the trigger... any advice is great thanks

STATE FARM is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with whether medical from car accident or replacing a truck. I had them for 20 years no claims until we were rear ended in 2005. Liberty was the absolute best wife hit black ice and then a tree totaled our truck. They paid more then we paid for the truck and did it quick.

that's an understatement, i never thought they could be this $hitty. After losing everything, they try to screw you even more...

They may cost you a bit but a professional, 3rd party appraiser will usually pay for themselves.
At least that was my experience when filing a diminished value claim against the other
driver that pulled out in front of my relatively new ATS. On top of the $21,750 they paid
for the repair, I was able to secure another check for 6’ish on the diminished value. Cost
me $300 but he handled the appraisal, the paperwork and coached me on the negotiations
with the other insurance company. For me, it was money well spent.

Let your insurance co take a swing at it- if they play any games, either demand appraisal or hire a public adjuster like said above. They usually are 10% of total claim, but I have had roofs go from denied coverage to 1,100,000 at the extreme and some from 8k to 160k. You loss sounds like your policy should be maxed out in payments to you...

Sorry that this happened to you guys and your neighbors. Glad that you are all ok and your 4 legged family members too. I went through this in 2006 when our house burned down leaving only the exterior cinderblock walls.. It was only the beginning of a long difficult process that led us down a road surrounded by wolves trying to take a bite out of our asses until we rebuilt and we were finaly back home 2 years later. If there’s anything I can do to help or anything you need let me know. Your new rig and home are awesome!

Thanks, you know what it's like, and for letting me see the light at the end of the tunnel.

we hired a private adjuster a few months ago and things are going well, they got me about triple of what state farm offered on the H1. they are charging 10% on the house and contents and did the truck for free, one of the adjusters is a hummer guy so that was the hookup there. we just settled on the truck last week. home and belongings will still be awhile though.

Neo, I know this is way after the fact but please know I'm so sorry about the Outpost and your H1! I'm glad you and yours are okay. I have a lot of good memories of 6 trips with the infamous Black Sheep Hummer Squadron! It was an honor to run with you guys!

I'm getting ready to move back to Michigan (after 24 yrs. in Dallas) in a few months. Hope to see you guys again someday!

Moab should be rebuilt by Nov-Dec... I'm at the beach right now in Brookings Oregon looking at property. we are planning on building something like this overlooking the water.
