We did a "quick" night run Friday night with Neo, JGBB04 and Caleb and Abby from CO. I rode shotgun with Neo.

It was quick as after about 3/4 the way through the trail Neo's truck began running rough. We took a quick exit back to the main road and headed back to the Outpost. The truck died on the way back so we decided to tow it with JGBB04's H3T. The trip back to the house was mostly downhill so Neo was using the brakes to keep his H1 from making a large impression on the back of James' T. Soon, we heard Caleb over the CB: "Fire, fire!"

Neo's rear calipers were glowing red hot with flames coming out on top. Neo and James both put it out with fire extinguishers, saving the truck. We got the truck back to the Outpost and a bit later it was figured out a fuel pump went out. I'm thinking Neo may need new brake pads too :)

Here are a few shots from the night run. Sorry about the low quality; it was my first time trying to shoot Hummers at night.

This is Neo taking a line H3s and H2s could not likely do, either going up or down.

Any photos of Zuki Hill?

I have a lot of pics. I did not get them to Alex to post so when I get a chance over the next few days I will get them posted. We will be leaving Amarillo for Dallas in an hour or so. Hope everyone is making it home safe.

We finally did the Crystal Geyser trail and found it was not just a walk in the park as I thought. There were some fun climbs up some ledges with plenty of loose rock and sand. This is one of a few.

The minerals formations from the Geyser from the water that flows down into the Green River:
_D307251.jpg

(From Wikipedia....Crystal Geyser is located on the east bank of the Green River approximately 4.5 miles (7.25 km) downstream from Green River, UT. It is a rare example of a cold water carbon dioxide driven geyser; geothermal activity does not play a role in the activity of the geyser. The ground water near the geyser has significant quantities of dissolved carbon dioxide, along with substantial underground gas accumulations in the surrounding area. Saturation of the aquifer with CO[SUB]2[/SUB] creates enough pressure to force groundwater through the geyser and out on to the surface.

The area surrounding the modern geyser is covered in a thick layer of orange travertine (a form of Limestone). Near the river, adjacent to the modern orange travertine, are substantial deposits of white travertine, perhaps reflecting the original depositional environment of the geyser (before the exploratory well was drilled.)

We had a ball. I thought the trail was mostly sand and we were quite surprised with some of the cool obstacles. At that spot at the top of the hill, Rick and I stacked rocks but as soon as my rear wheel climbed them, they sand into the sand; like an endless pit.
