My dad is organizing the second annual Hummer Invasion at Pismo. Last year there were 9 Hummers.

This fine details are being worked out. Such as initial commitments from the Army, Navy and Marines in bringing out 'Hummer related' vehicles. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Lone Survivor Foundation. http://www.lonesurvivorfoundation.org/

The plans are to have a car show/fund raiser events, etc. on Saturday and off roading in the dunes on Sunday. So that the Hummers are clean for the car show.

And June 28th will be the 7th anniversary of Operation Redwings. Which is one of the reasons for choosing the Lone Survivor Foundation.

I will update this thread as I found out more and hope to see you out there!

I'd might try and make this if I can. I might have to get some of the sun damage painted if there's a show or I can find a huge mud puddle to drive it through to cover it up. Hummers look better with mud and mother natures pin striping any way. lol

Pismo is straight up FUN. Hummers are great vehicles for that kind of wheeling. They have plenty of power and can take the landings. I typically try to go around Oct/Nov to avoid crowds because it can be insane during the summer.

If I can make this trip I will.

If we don't move to San Diego by then we'll be there w/ the baby and dog. It's only about 2hrs from where we live now and we've loved taking the Hummer out there :)

it's totally worth it! if you camp on the beach it's only $10 a night. you can even rent a camper trailer, and it will get towed out to you!

I hope you can make it! my Dad is saying he has been contacted by at least one in Texas and Montana(IIRC) that plan on coming out for the event.

Here is a new post my dad put up on the HML
Here is a Mock up of the Artwork for the show! I am looking for constructive criticism ... there is no right or wrong and I may or may not do what you comment on ... remember this is the first draft and it will be finished as a Vector Art Graphic so the final artwork will be slightly different, like the shadows or reflections in the windows, license plates, etc will be gone.

This show and fundraiser will help benefit United States Military Veterans so any support you can give would be greatly appreciated!

The vendor that we will be working with will have an online store that you can PRE-ORDER from a list of T-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, hoodies, Jackets, Polo's, hats, etc and BEST OF ALL ... we will be offering custom embroidery for you to have possibly have 2 to 3 lines on the front for maybe your name, year make and model of your truck ... or whatever! These will be internet orders and to be picked up at the show or will ship them to you. The day of the show we will have white shirts only in L, 2X and 3X available.

We will be seeking vendors starting next week so anyone that would like to be included and have their logo on the shirts, Posters and Postcards, please get in contact with me immediately.

Let me know what you think ... a lot of time and effort has gone into the design to include all types of the Hummer and Humvee (Spec Op SEALs) in this logo ... all comments are welcome! Final design will be done in the next week or two! So Speak up now!

SPECIAL THANKS to ROBERT CROWDER for the use of his AMAZING two door for the shows poster vehicle! Now all we need to do is find someone to trailer it up to Pismo Beachfor the event!

hummer_invasion_comp_1_828.jpg

any thoughts/suggestions on the graphic will be passed onto my dad. to note I have a shirt that was designed by the same artist my dad is using (the shirt is for a business of a different automotive hobby of mine) and it is sweet!

Also if any vendors are interested please contact me so I can forward the info to my dad and or contact my dad on the HML (username: 818955SOLD)

my Dad met with the city again today and the location has been locked down for the car show on saturday

I think I'll be able to make it, maybe some of us washington and Oregon folks could convoy it down?

it would be great if you can make it! Going to be a great event!

I had put on the FB page I would go. What is there to do? And where exactly will it be held at? Any participation fee?

Saturday will be the car show, on Sunday we will be out in the dunes.

I do not know the exact location (as in address). But I do know the car show will be on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway, The 1) near the pier. and I believe we are meeting on the beach before we head out into the dunes.

as for what to do are you inquiring about the activities of this event? or attractions in the region?

as for participation fee, There is going be an entry fee. This will go to help cover the costs of procuring the parking lot for the car show and other costs associated with the show. But the rest of the proceeds are going to the Lone Survivor Foundation.

Wow, that is quite a foundation! Can't think of a better reason to put some miles on my Hummer. And it gives me enough time to put in for time off at work. Though hubby won't be thrilled about it being in California, for political reasons, he loves our wonderful military and will probably love to show his support. Perhaps us Texans could get a group together to go?

Damn Julie, that is about 27 hours of driving for you. You go girl. And I am with your husband on CA. This place sucks in more ways than you can imagine. It does have good weather though. :)

I don't mind the drive though & you get to see some pretty country! Hey, if me & 2 of my girlfriends can totally load up my Toyota Tercel (way back when) & drive to Vegas & back (straight thru each way), then I can handle a leisurely drive to CA for a great cause. And 3 girls can pack a lot of crap...we had the trunk full & luggage strapped to the roof of the car. It was hilarious to see that car slowing down to about 40 by the time it made it to the top of each mountain. Must admit that car was a little trooper.

Well if you make it out here I will have to try to arrange to be there. I haven't done Pismo. I usually prefer the more technical wheeling but drifting in the blow sand in the Mojave Desert was a blast also.

Wow, hubby just ran the numbers for me & just in fuel alone to get there & back will cost us $1200. As much as I would love to go, for the reason I would be going (the Lonesurvivor Foundation), it would be better to donate that money directly to the foundation. Sorry Expendable but we can't make that one. I did see they have a Lonesurvivor Ranch here in Texas, perhaps we could do something here.

Long drive, lots of gas, several hotel bills and a week off of work. A donation would be more effective but probably not as much fun.
