Figured you had a ton of experience with the depth perception issue associated with any NV monocular, just wanted to put that out there. Hard to get used to for some, & dont forget the convoy light so I dont run in to you when we do the first east coast H4O (night vision only?) night run!!! If you are ever in the D.C. area give me a ring, I think I can get big dogs offroad to open for a H4O members only run..maybe w/ a little NVM shooting too... if your not tired of that already, lol.

Like anything, practice makes perfect. You know how sketchy it can get if you don't learn to adjust properly to using them. I adapted to them pretty easily, but like you said, some had a hard time adjusting. I guess being used to shooting both eyes open helped a lot. I also found that if I backed off the 14 a bit it "disappeared" into my peripheral vision. I also used it on my weak eye which also helped not to focus on it, but in the distance. All tricks you learn with use and others that have more experience.

Got the color matched speedo installed. Now I have to do the rest of the center console.

MFC carrier that goes in the place of the spare tire carrier.

Here you can see the mounting bracket and a better view of latch. You can put a lock on the latch.

MWC holders. These get bolted inside where the rear seat goes. I'm making a base that bolts in the place of the rear seat. It will hold the spare tire, the MWCs, and the PullPal. This a more long term project that's still in the back burner. I'm slowly collecting all the material and getting ready for when I find some time.

Projects like this are never finished. the truck is practically finished and could probably run as is, but I'm looking to make it "bombproof". The standard driveshaft works but the new double cardan will avoid long term bearing damage. Small things that make a difference in the long run.

Just added a 10" Currie power steering cooler. Took a while figuring out where I could fit it. It finally found its home on the passenger side frame. I'm going to fab up a duct to direct air and increase cooling efficiency.

I also installed the High Angle CV drive shaft. Next little project is to adapt the H2 license plate holder to fit my spare tire.

Just got in the mail some goodies I had ordered while still overseas.

These are the Marathon Seat Covers Superhides in A-TACS camo. I can't even start to explain how amazingly well made these things are!!! In the pic you can see the front seats and the matching center console. I didn't include the rear ones because I don't have any more carpet space. What I really like about these seats is that you can pretty much pick any color or pattern. These are waterproof Cordura. The assembly instructions aren't generic. They are vehicle specific with real pics of H3 seats. They are held in place with real HD straps and not elastics or bungees cords. I won't be installing them immediately because I'm going to have somebody install some zippers in the back, so I can still access the factory map holders. I will store all my Delorme Atlases in there and only pull out the one of the State I need. They even made a matching A-TACS cover for the atlas. These guys are amazing.

Spent most of the day removing power steering pump and installing the new one. Had to fabricate a bunch of new hoses since the fittings and lengths were different. Runs very smooth now. Hope this one holds up longer.

Damn...more steering issues? I know you have been fiddling with yours for the last year and a half. I've been watching closely because I sort of expected to have similar issues. I don't want to jinx myself but, so far...my system is holding up really well. As of right now...I'm content running 37"s without a ram assist. The junkyard Nissan box (not rebuilt!) seems pretty robust, and the stock H3 Delco pump seems to feed it just fine. I recently made a longer pitman arm and that has greatly improved the "feel" of the steering, especially at low speeds. Of course there is always room for improvement...and occasionally I feel the "power" falter a bit but, I'm almost afraid to mess with it. I figure I'll run it as-is and when (or if) it ever fails...I'll re-do it with a ram assist.

Got the Marathon Superhides seat covers in A-TACS installed in the front seats.

They fit really snug and don't budge no matter how much you shake your behind.

I got it with the rear map pockets and matching Delorme Atlas cover. Hopefully tomorrow I'll install the rear seats.

One thing to understand when you get to this level, is that failures don't tend to happen for one specific reason. This was no different. We kept changing stuff since the system couldn't handle the tire size. Things didn't get tested out right. Hoses rubbed and broke. All these little things made other parts suffer and now I'm seeing the cumulative effects. Now that I know what works, if I wanted a reliable setup, I would have to get everything in the steering setup completely new. That would be too expensive, so instead I replace the specific components that start to fail.

The seat covers look really nice. I really like that you have map pockets and a map cover.

What are the little caps attached to the back of the headrests?

Those are head lamps. Never know when you might need a light. They also double up as back seat map reading lights. The black thing over the driver's headrest is a CB speaker. Makes it easier to monitor.

Finally got the rear seats covers on. The attention to detail is just amazing. Love these. Well worth the wait.
