what became of your LH8?

Zebra, I sold it to a fellow hotrodder. People who know what they are, LOVE our LH8 engines.

For those of you who don't know, the LH8 is a 4th gen, LS-architecture engine. The 4th gens have the stronger factory pistons & rods. The LH8 is also an aluminum block, not iron so it is much lighter. And finally, it does not have DOD or VVT like the 2010 Alpha LH9's did, so there's nothing to delete. So if any of you decide to sell your stock used engine, don't settle for the $500 junkyard iron 3rd gens that people love to offer. Sold mine for $1850 to a local guy that supercharged it and put it on his airboat.

There are other subtle differences like the better heads, and 58x reluctor wheel etc. Just know they are a great engine, esp. to the performance guys that use them to hold up to 1000hp.

dang.
i'm still on the fence about trying to be the #2 v8 manual H3... but the LH8 is the only motor we're interested in for many of them reasons: nose weight, DoD/AFM, and not having to separately find the LH8 exhaust/oil pan being the biggest ones.

2009 H3 or 2009 H3T

It was, after i bought it..w/ 108626
it was.going to be my LS Project H3T once the 3.7L expired, Since the cash was hard to come up with .. I've settled in w/ my 3.7L. and for what its worth, Its got plenty of power & agility to go anywhere
It's the only H3T in omaha, ne theres a black Alpha in omaha too (2) H3Ts in the city, maybe the entire State itself
This H3T was a Sept 2008 production build and it's 1 of 56 H3T trucks w/ a 5-speed.,..

Its reliable, starts up every time, I've waited 14 yrs to own one.

You'd be wrong, there is a third H3T in omaha, and I believe one in central nebraska

I still have my 3.7 and 4l60e, for hopefully 6 months max. I do have a spare LH8 and drivetrain to go with it, as I'll be doing a 6.2 w/6l80e and hopefully a dana IFS front end if they ever become a thing for my swap

^^hmm... i'm trying to get hired for a position in omaha within the next year.
i might have to hit you up & see if you've still got that LH8. that is, if we don't sell the H3 here (better market in the black hills than down there).

well if you are interested, I will be selling selling the entire vehicle, minus the Wiring harness/ECU and any electronics for ~2k USD, That or you can pull the engine yourself, I don't really have any interest in keeping just a rolling chassis / parting it out

oh dang... decisions, decisions.
aside from the wiring (which is obviously important), that's tempting because we'd also want to swap to Alpha torsion bars & maybe snag a handful of other miscellaneous body/interior touch-up items.

all depends on how committed the wife is to keeping her 180k mile H3 - because she's eyeballing Tacomas as a new DD... and when that happens the H3 would just be for trail riding, camping trips, etc. there's a decent market to sell it here in the Hills, though, and she ain't fully sold on another project vehicle.
