I liked 2N17X!

Do u have any runs in march or april that are a 35in/locker type difficult trail? I haven't done a super tough one in a while

Don't forget the Moab run is in April for those that are going. I wasn't able to get to Big Bear, so I'd like any-thing up that way or 2N17X sounds good.

I agree mikkel. I will send an email to cbetts with some trails that seem fun yet challenging but still wont be killing our rigs. I have seen a few good ones.

I also dont wanna come across as the old trails are boring, because they definitely arent. I still love going to trails that I have done before, seeing the changes of the trail and picking new lines is all fun. If we throw a new trail in between every few runs I think it will make the so cal region go from great to even better. Craig and Zach, you guys are doing an awesome job with so cal, we are one of the most active regions IMHO.

I will not be able to lead anything until after February. I am planning another 2N17X run for March so we can try some of the alternative diamond routes on the return loop. Zach and I need to do another lunch and get plans together and put y'all on the trails!

2N17X sounds good for March. Especially hitting some of the off chutes on the way down we haven't done before. Let me know when's a good time to get together.

I would still like to try and get a true snow run in for Feb. At this point with weather, I don't know how realistic that is. But according the the Russian Weather service in Hamster we are suppose to get some snow in about a week. :giggle:

Johnson Valley would be interesting, I've been out there a few times for desert races, lots of wide open areas with whoops, but a few rocky areas as well.

You guys ever run Calico/Odessa Canyon? We could probably do something out there as well and check out the ghost town.

And maybe do Odessa Canyon.. or skip it.. it can be a right fit

There's a lot of trails up there, not as crazy as above so all difficulty levels are there.

I forget which trail or canyon it was, but some of the guys from Hummer Basecamp tried running one of the trails around Calico a few years ago and had significant carnage to their H2's. Dave do you recall where this was?

The 2 trails near calico that would be difficult would be Doran and Odessa.

I ran the odessa trail with the psychos during the calico cleanup and we [h1's ] just barely squeezed through with inches to spare. I don't remember any damage other than the trailer. It took us a while, 2-3 hours to go a few miles. According to the rangers & locals we were the only hummer group that they know of that completed that trail. That being said we did do the trail going downhill which helped. I think the route people were taking was going Doran up and Odessa down. We came in off another trail at the top of odessa, what slowed us down was the trailers on some of the h1's.

Doran is the more difficult trail, and I wouldn't expect many stock vehicles to be able to do it without damage that one I haven't run but I've seen a few vehicles get towed out of there [there's a gatekeeper obstacle at the trail head].

It was a fun trip, I got lost for a while trying to find a group, and there were sponsors running around for the trail clean up event, there was a FRS energy drink truck in the middle of the desert handing out samples. After a while, the 2 girls got sick of the heat, and started giving away as many cases as you wanted. I wound up with 8-10 cases of the stuff tossed in the back. :lol:
