He had me for the first 3 seconds until he knocked the Fiero. Laughable to everyone who has never owned one, I have to say it's probably the most fun to drive GM car I've owned.

That was funny. I remember the Fiero. May have been fun to drive, but I've seen more than a few with char marks over the engine compartment. At least it was behind the driver.
And the Ford Pinto.... aka.... I explode on impaact. Kept body damage down. No one would drive near them.

LOL.and who can forget GM's other basturd child..the Corvair..The very first car I had ever owned for two hours and I rolled it...Shut up!. yes I was going too fast around that curve

I'll second that. I was one who made fun of them and thought they were ridiculous. Until I got married and my father-in-law gave us one as a wedding gift. '85 GT. That car drove like it was on rails! I always wanted to do a motor swap to a 3400 DOHC motor, but then we started having kids!

At the risk of hijacking the thread, I'll post a picture of my Fiero so you can all laugh at me. :giggle: The fact that everyone assumes all Fieros are fireballs is a great case of GM rushing a product to market (as they commonly did in the 80's, even moreso than today), and destroying public perception for the platform. The fire issue only affected some of the '84's. After that, it was corrected, but to this date, everyone assumes any Fiero is a bomb waiting to go off. I will also agree that some flashy ground effects did wonders for the car. The GT's look like a completely different car in my opinion than the dorky runabout base models. If I ever get the time, money, and true motvation, I would love to stick a Northstar in one of these. There's even one LS-6 powered Fiero floating around out there that I have heard of.
