$850 parts and labor is not right my friend... even cheap ass parts for a full rebuild is more than $800 not including labor? Maybe if he is only replacing first gear and a servo motor but no way a full rebuild can cost that cheap.

You would be surprised how inexpensive transmission parts are. If you haven't broken any hard parts and the electrical is all good, you can fully rebuild your trans for about $200 in parts. This includes all frictions and steels, soft parts, pistons and gaskets.

Heck, when I broke my input shaft earlier this year, a new input drum, reverse drum, full rebuild kit and a band only set me back less than $400.

A rebuild cost is all in labor. Both to pull it, rebuild and then reinstall.

Brown truck guy dropped off some snorkel parts and a Defender rack. Now I just need some spare time.

Learned the hard way that running 35's on the H3 is not just about being slow in the 3.7l or even about not having the right gearing to make the trans work correctly... It's about the fact that the 4l60e in stock form cannot take the stress given by the 35's combined with poor 4:56 gears. I never would have thought at 82k miles I would actually have to do a full rebuild on a trans. Pieces are all over the bottom of the trans. Total DOA. Sad moment, feeling pressure from the wife this money pit needs to go.

I think your rig just drew the short straw lol lots of other peeps running 35's for who knows how long on a stock tranny. Good luck with the repair though.

I agree with the short straw. I see this tranny hold up to 400+ hp on a daily driver Trail Blazer and he is not light on the pedal.

Isnt the TBSS running a 4L70?
I came today from the trans guy, saw the burnt clutches and warped discs! Even the pump has some scarring!
I have 95K on the trans, 35s for 65K of them and wheeled it every other week hard though (Im not disappointed). It didnt help racing every jeep while wheeling too and neither the unforgiving weather (desert and hot).

Installed a new 13,000 lb winch on Big Red. Made by Pro Winch says it is fully waterproof.

Captured these dudes posing in front of my 3, to send home to their families. They can't see me from behind my office window.

Yes I have them. They are not the sturdiest out there but best option if you need steps that can be bolted and unbolted when wheeling. Other option is the original OEM which are near impossible to find complete with steps. They are cheaper but

do offer pretty good protection.

The steps are a big bonus mostly trying to find something on a budget

Then they should do the job. I am 250lbs and I can jump on them when I step on them and can easily jack the truck up using them with a hi-lift jack. So far so good. Side note one of the eight bolts at the rear did not line up, but still strong though.

Took the Alpha out to Hell Hole Reservoir. Got my skid all battered up nice. Coming down was easier. Very tight trail in some parts.....excellent camping except for the fact that it was pretty windy. Coming out was very difficult, had to bust out the winch several times. Always ended up hung up on the skid plates. Belly clearance was a big issue for me. Otherwise the alpha did great and everyone was very impressed with the rigs capability. At one point my transfer case wouldn't shift into 4Lo. service 4wd came on. Drove as far as I could without 4Lo and then suddenly I could shift again. T-Case overheat?

Hey guys back again and a few month hiatus.

Ordered some parts for my T yesterday to keep up with maintenance and about to order new wheels and tires either this week or next.

Going to be taking my T into a new direction these next few months; I started to notice a trend developing with my rig... It was becoming a PIG!

Too much stuff too much weight!

I am going to be getting rid of excess weight and get my T back into fighting shape.

Oh and soon I will be back on 37's!

The most immediate plan is to get things prepped for winter since I will be making a 1500 mile trip across the mountains in December and don't want to have any issue along the way

I learned the same thing! I used to be all about more=better and now I truly believe less weight is better. When wheeling hardcore stuff I ditch the doors =380 lbs. I ditch as much crap in the trunk especially when doing "base camp wheeling" like setting up camp and wheeling for days but coming back to base. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes
