Well, just got the H3 back about a week and a half to two weeks ago. Torque converter got replaced.

Today with 71,367 on the clock, I turned the ignition, it clunked and is now idling with a hard knock.
After listening and getting it back to the house, it's not the engine, it's coming from the transmission.

Check the torque converter bolts and ensure they are torqued to specification. Use some blue loctite if necessary. Loose converter bolts will make an engine sound like rod knock (i.e. Engine issue).

Got my first major project vehicle in the shop and of course it has to be a Jeep.... I take the Hummer over to pickup some parts I needed and it stops shifting into second gear and this is after a full trans rebuild.... I am starting to think this truck is a black plague upon me. It really just needs to burn to the ground and put out with holy water. Maybe it has the old Land Rover plague spending more time in the shop than ever driven.

Should have bought a new gm trans...

Did the same person rebuild it twice? I had mine rebuilt and had no issues. He does 4l60e trans all day and even threw some upgrades in the trans as well.

Plastidipped the fake air things. I think it looks stupid but it is better than looking at my fading paint. Now I just have to man up and do the fenders. It is probably gonna be to much black but oh well.

The bottom items are new fog light bulbs (switch back from HID'S as I was having issues with cheap ballasts)
Middle is for a head light swap (don't worry I bought two)
And top are the 9" LED lights which are an ARB clone/knock off and will be mounted on the grill guard

Please show us the light output from those headlights. I would like to know if it is anywhere close to as good as real hid projectors.

Those arb knockoffs are gonna be bright as hell!!! I have 50 watt led lamps in the fogs and they light everything. I can't imagine double the output!!!

From what I have read these will not have the throw that real HID's have... So if you are in the desert or the prairies and want distance, my first guess are that these would not replace HID's.

I live in the mountains and have no need to get the distance that HID's provide.

I will certainly be taking photos and posting up some info on how they are once they are hooked up

I haves loose wire in tranny that occasionally makes it not shift up. Also no compression in first (like it's in neutral), and speedometer and odometer stop working.

What I've been able to do is shift back into park for a moment, then back into gear. I guess it resets itself.

I've been holding off repairing it until I could afford the 4:1 transfer case swap. Since its apart anyway.

You might want to try the shift to park trick

Can't make it through the day? Back up, and get a run at it!

I don't have a picture right now, but I pulled the plastic covers off of the A pillar and used a heat gun to resurface the faded plastic to looking like new again. They look nearly as nice as Ghostbuster's now, and it only took like 20 minutes to do both of them.

Nice! I wipe new'd mine about 2 years ago when I got it. They weren't super bad to begin with but you can really tell a difference.

I need to clean off my left one. I tried a handful of different adhesives to try to stop the wind noise from my passenger side A pillar cover. These attempts to secure it down caused some white residue to be left behind. I'm not sure what will remove it.

I totally botched it lol. You can even see where I wipe new'd the plastic along the top side.. but not all the way on top.

You know, securing those down is another good point.
I think one of the previous owners had the windshield replaced by someone who didn't know how to pay attention to anything and broke a bunch of the snaps underneath both of them, so there's a gap and they're loose. I think it causes some whistling or tapping noises at certain speeds as I can reach up there while I'm driving and feel it vibrating. I'll let you guys know if I come up with any clever ways of securing it down in the future as that's a project I'm adding to my (longer every day) list.
But hey, at least for now they look nice from a distance.

Just removed my H3 from a 3 year hibernation. I have changed the oil, coolant, and the belt. I think my tires have a permanent flat spot them.
