2009 H3T Back Seat Modification ??

As we all know there isn't much room in our "big" Hummers. In the H3T there seems to be enough room under the rear seat bottom to store a few items - the jack obviously, a few tools, a quart of oil, first aid kit, etc.

Does anyone know of a modification kit to allow the seat bottom to lift up and swing forward allowing easy access to the floor OR has anyone already done this modification?

Obviously, one can "stuff" things under the seat but being able to lift the seat bottom up would sure be nice.

Also, is there a decent "swing down" mod for the spare tire?

Thanks.

I'm way behind the 8 ball on this thread but I thought the same thing after posting guruerror. I'm going to try to get to a wrecking yard (I'm in Taos so maybe Albuquerque) and take a good hard look. I'll let both of you know the outcome but as you can see, don't hold your breath waiting for me to get back on here.:whaa:

I've never messed with the rear seat on an H3 SUV myself, but the more I look at the images on Google it doesn't look like the H3 SUV rear seat bottom actually flips up. I was under the impression that the H3 SUV seats would function like my H2 seats; but it appears that they are all stationary. I'll let someone with a H3 SUV chime in on this though.

Not sure what you mean by stationary, the bottom portion of the rear seats in the H3 SUV do flip up, sort of. They're really meant to flip up and then drop forward to sit in the footwell of the rear so that you can fold the rear seat backs down as far as possible. If you grab them at the front bottom edge and lift up they'll pop up, then you can swing them forward and back down into the footwell.

Okay...good feedback. Like I said...I've never messed with the rear seat in an H3 SUV; then maybe this will do what the OP is looking for.

That said, some other things that I noticed from pics: The T has a hook that latches the rear seat to the rear wall, this would prolly have to be removed or cut off to allow the SUV seat to go fully upright. Also, the SUV seems to have the middle seat belt built into the seat...the T has it integrated into the rear wall. This would prolly have to be removed or modified as well.

...just my two cents.

Not really feasible, The Suv seat also leans back farther than the T and latches in place differently. The truck is small enough that reaching under the seat isn't a problem, or barring that, there are several boxes that mount in the bed for storage.
