2008 H3 Alpha 130,00ish miles.
Son is off to somewhere non-disclosed. Parked on the street, HOA on my ass to move it. Battery died, swapped with known good batt, terminals replaced with pinned and soldered connections with 0 corrosion.
Still absolutely dead, ignition key trapped (Passlock?)...
bad fuel injectors can lead to a lean knock condition. I wrecked my 3/4 ton Suburban's 8.1L that way. 60psi compression in that cylinder. The injector wasn't delivering enough fuel creating the lean condition that literally beat the rings off the cylinder.
How many miles are on your Alpha...
Me a big sign, a dangling mirror, and warning every customer that drives up about getting their mirror snapped off. I guarantee that will cost them more than 1 mirror. I’m the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet, until I’m not.
Public sidewalk and legal parking right where they turn into the...
Did you climb underneath and verify you have a front driveshaft?
One reason to put it in 4hi lock is to fool the computer and sensors to let you run without a front driveshaft.
These things eat shafts like a pro,
drive shafts to be clear. Get your 13 year old mind out of the gutter.

Finally got it right!!! Stance is right on the money!!! No more banging at the slightest dip in the road and drives much better. So nice!!! Spring shop warrantied the whole thing and re-arched them to Rancho’s specs at no charge!
The above Rancho specs are on the money. I measured and...
LOL, no pics necessary, looks utterly ridiculous and is completely completely undrivable. It is 100% all spring no shock absorbers engaging at all. Just pulling off my street through a tiny dip that my golf cart negotiates with no problem had this thing bouncing all over the road. Less than 5...
Quick update:
Wanted 3” of rear lift with the re-arch of the lead springs. Just got it back together. I got 6.5” of elevation in the rear versus the desired 3-4”. Suspicions confirmed, they put way too much arch in the springs.
I go about 240 pounds right now, not proud of that. With my fat...
Not sure on a re-learn. I think mine was simply a super weak starter draining my battery causing the codes. New starter really improved starting.
Good luck!
Matt
Thanks for the detailed reply!!!! By loose I meant it’s just held I place by the sway bar links. The leaf spring to axle pin was a solid 3” forward of the axle pin hole.
I’ll persuade it into position and see how it looks. Been on the road a bunch so it’ll have to wait another week end or 2...
I suppose the axle shifting is a possibility. However, when I dropped the leaf springs out, the axle didn’t really seem to move at all. I did not disconnect the swaybar links. So that’s generally holding it in position. I’m not sure if that makes any difference or not.
I suppose I’ll go ahead...
nope. I stamped them for DS front and PS front so I’d be sure. I suppose he could have packed the rest of the spring pack backwards. But the top wedge/spacer is correct too with the Fat end forward. Hopefully Ranch comes through with the specs like they did for the bushings!
Later,
Matt
Looking at my pics I’m hitting right at 26” in the front and 23-23.5 in back. When I jacked up the rear for the pics the front dipped down about 1/2”.
Hopefully it comes out nice and not jacked too high in the back. Like I said, maybe just a touch of a crank in the front if it needs leveled...
Not leaking anywhere, but you can smell gasoline fumes. It seems like when you fill it all the way up it’s filling up too far into the Phil tube. I believe it might be covering the vent to running to the EAP system as well. Only does it when filling it completely full until the pump handle hit...
I clipped the temp sensor plug and had to replace it. Total PITA!!!!! Instantly hits that AC OFF mode with the climate or AC controls blinking as I recall.
Good luck!
Matt
