40" tires on stock suspension parts all by itself is an issue.... but then put those parts on stilts and that is death on wheels. the moment that front suspension hits something that stresses it (such as a ditch or rear ending a car because 40" tires on 31" brakes) it's going down.
This thing has been up for sale every year, for the past few years. Mostly through dealerships. This is the first time I see it up for private sale. The dealerships had it priced at 35k and he is asking for the same price. I want to test drive it, just to see how it handles those 40's..because I know it has to suck. I'd trade him Subaru STI for it though, I hate my car and would like to have another Hummer. Then I'd tare that bitch down and make it my own.
It's strictly for looks apparently, since they had to drop the center crossmember down so that the torsion springs would still work. So it basically still has just as much clearance as a stock H3. I have to give them props on the fab work, that's a fair bit to put into that thing. Would probably have been cheaper and obviously would have been better to just go with a SAS if you want it lifted that much.
And I bet that thing leans like crazy on corners. That'd be pretty scary that high up...
