Since we all know the oil change on the H3, 3.5 and 3.7L 1-5 engines suck big time, has anyone installed one of these? It is the model with the nipple, so you could install a tube over the nipple and direct it down to the pan or container before opening the valve?

The offer a decent warranty in case of failure...
Fumoto Engineering of America offers a LIFE TIME WARRANTY on its product, against faulty workmanship and/or material to the original purchaser (with proof of purchase). Fumoto Engineering of America will also indemnify any consequential damages to the engine/vehicle which are directly caused by the defective product. This warranty does not cover any damages due to misuse, abuse, negligence or accident. This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada.

I cannot see it getting damaged or opened accidentally on the H3 with the skid plate and the crossmember right below it.

Doing some research, seems to be used quite a bit by truck people on some of the truck forums I belong to and no complaints I can find.

I think it's pointless to install..I mean, what's the use?...you still have to take the skid plates off to access the oil filter anyway..and so it gives me time or an excuse to look things over while under there, which you couldn't do with the skid plates on...But I'll agree that the cross member gets a little oil on it, but hey, that's what rags are for........I put a magnetic plug in my sump drain..therefore it keeps a check on any loose metal particles..God forbid.

With the hose attached to the nipple, there is no mess when doing an oil change. The filter side has never been a problem, its always been when you pull the drain plug, the oil splashes down on the crossmember and then it goes all over.

Still need to remove the skid plate!!

So again I ask anyone have experience?

I have not found one complaint. I might order one.

This would really help with the Rancho lift as well, I was looking at them last moth but not going to order one until I am closer to my next oil change.

Let us know how it goes!

Doug I hated to change the oil on my H3 it was a pain and could be messy. It does look like it could make the process much cleaner.

I've heard good things about those valves. Don't know why I didn't think of it with the H3 but I was debating putting one on the A3.

I don't have one on the H3 but only because I haven't thought about ordering one when I was needing to do an oil change (I do need to do one now). I had a similar valve sold by Fram cost me an engine. The Fram valve had a hose that screwed on and apparently the last time I unscrewed the hose the valve backed out. With the skid plate protecting the plug on the H3 I don't see any problem with using it. The latch on the Fumoto valve is secure while still being able to open it in a tight place. I have friends that have used them on some serious engines without issue.

Thanks for the well timed reminder F5. I just ordered one along with the locking ring and dust cap. I went with the slow shipping because they are predicting a cold spell next week with highs only in the upper 90s.

You're welcome. Want me to let you know when mine needs changing too?:giggle: Did you get the one with the nipple? Sorry to hear about your cold spell, we have one here too; maybe no more 100s for this year...but who knows.

I'm going to order one too for the H3. Since i refuse to go near the local GM dealer anymore, guess I'll start doing my own changes again. In the past, I found a modified plastic gallon jug worked great for the oil filter, but never seem to work for the drain plug mess.
I have found some bad notations in regard to the Frame valve.

Don't believe I'll get one for the Silverado, the oil plug on that is easy to get and no damn crossmember hanging below the plug or filter.

I have one on all my vehicles since I found out about them in the 90's. The H3 is by far the best application to date. Small hose ran to an empty oil jug is really a no mess job. I believe it is a F-107 and I use quick connect tube fittings to angle it down.

Yes, I got the one with the nipple. I'd gladly come out and take care of your oil if you pay for my gas. How does early October sound?

Just a quick follow up. I got my valve a couple days after ordering and installed it a few days ago. Using my lightning fast hands (and a few paper towels) I was able to pull the drain plug out and put the valve in without making much of a mess. Considering the huge chunks of dirt lodged between the oil pan and the UCP, I'm glad I got the cap for the valve I think it was about $1 extra and the sent me two. Skip on their hose clamp lock. There is not enough space to slide it on between the valve and the oil pan. My valve is turned about 45 degrees further than rascole's so I'm not very concerned about anything catching on it but my put a worm clamp on it for good measure. I had about 800' of 3/8" ID Bev Tube left over from when I installed my soda fountain that worked perfect to drain in to my drain pan.

I have to change mine soon as well. I might as well install one of these while I'm at it. I just wish I knew about these before. After the last oil change the garage looked like a Mobile 1 horror movie set after I was done.
