If you're going to wheel it, I would suggest UCP and rock rails. As for the horn, contact cbetts, he has a nice install and it's loud. Tires depend on what you are going to do with it. Rack, Gobi or knight metal works, aka Scarsman.

If you are going to wheel it you need rockrails and some good UCP. Have to protect the belly of the beast. No lift. Just level it.

I believe the place to stay is a AAA premier membership, that gives you a free 200 mi tow and three 100 mile tows. You have to have AAA for one year without using the towing service before you can upgrade. Next, if you are going out with a group, get a CB radio.

I have a police PA and siren/horn combo in mine. It runs through a 100 watt speaker and I love it. For roof racks I will always stand by Gobi, tremendous product and customer service will make me a customer for life. The BA winch is the cleanest looking IMO, they're just hard to find. I would recommend Rocky Road sliders too. I would also stay away from lift kits. A simple level via torsion bar cranking and going to a 35 inch tire is all you need to do. Lift kits suspension is too soft IMO and I've seen trucks actually have more problems because of their lift kit than guys with stock suspension... Just my 2 cents.

Personal favorites:
"Lift" - crank torsion bars mildly
Rock rails - Rocky Road, I like the extra bar that sticks out as it works as a step too
UCP - OEM. Despite claims to contrary, ALL aftermarket UCP bends, but the OEM isn't bad and it also can be bent back into shape.
Rear axle protection - Hunner front and leaf spring skids
Roof rack - Gobi, Knight Metal Works
Brush guard, winch mount - BA bumper
Steering rack upgrade - Preferred Chassis Fabrication
Crossmember repair/upgrade - Preferred Chassis Fabrication

Stereo/backup cam - no personal knowledge, but I believe the Pioneer models have done well. F5 and others can give you some good feedback

I love ARB products so my vote is for the ARB Deluxe Front Bumper. I highly recommend the THOR rear bumper though!! Lift wise just crank up the tbars. I have a full length Gobi Stealth and the quality n finish is top notch. Diff protection wise the G2 Aluminum diff guard/cover is awesome. I ran then on my Jeep's and now my H3 and they're stout! Then some OEM UCP

In retrospect, i wish i had gone with a knight metal works roof rack. MUCH better lines on it which compliment the H3. Not wild on ARB bumper, they have one aesthetic design that they use for all their bumpers. to me it's M'eh. good old stock, or swap the fronts and rears for Thor Bumpers. Although i would love to see a rear Thor Bumper with a swing away tire and fuel can carrier for the H3.

Okay guys thanks for the input. I love gobi but just don't think i can afford that ATM. Kind of looking for a nice looking cheap rack i think its a "defender" rack that looked pretty nice on someone's vehicle, not sure tho. I also love the ba bumper but thats pretty hard to find. I have already cranked the tbars but i just want it a little higher but i think ill just stay with the cranked tbars considering some bad rep with some lift kits not all but some. I am gonna start looking for some rock rails tho thats on my list. I don't know if ucp is completely necessary for me bc of where I could go ride. Pretty much nothing but mud. So I will be upgrading tires soon but it's also my dd so should I go with 33's or 35's? Still looking for some stereo and back up cam suggestions. I do also want a cb radio system, and am still looking for suggestions for a horn. I think thats it lol. But I'm still starting fresh haven't done a lot of stuff so yall could name some things that yall would do if u started from scratch. Thanks guys

I come from Rovers & Jeeps so the look of an ARB looks great to me. It offers the most overall protection from the trail and wildlife doing any damage to your rig.

You can order the ARB thru 4Wheel Parts or Ebay. Shipping is the only PITA... (pretty much the same deal with any large bumper though) On my Rover and Jeep I was able to get a deal at 4Wheel Parts with free shipping n handling.

I nailed a large 10 point mule deer in my Wrangler with an ARB on the front, and all I had was some DNA on the bumper. One of my Rover's without an ARB died an early death from a deer and it was totaled out. On my replacement Rover I slapped an ARB on it, and I never had any more issues from cars, trucks, wildlife, or parking lot mayhem.

Sometimes you do get what you pay for lol. When I got my H3 Alpha it already had one on it along with a Warn Winch (main reason I bought it vs other Alpha's I saw for sale closer to me). The powdercoat is awesome, and I just recently added the fog lights to it. If I had the $$$ I'd buy one for my wife's H3.

I had a friend with a Wrangler in a massive head on car wreck which was so bad when he came to a stop he was hanging out of his Jeep still in his seat over the center concrete barrier(car drove up exit ramp the wrong way straight into oncoming traffic)!!! He was hurt, but alive! The ARB was basically still intact with just a slight bend in it where the frame connected to it. If he hadn't have had that ARB Bumper my friend would have died instantly in that crash. It absorbed the impact, airbags still deployed (ARB Bumpers are designed to keep the Airbags fully functional vs some other brands which slow their deployment down), and then it made the car kinda go off to the side vs into the engine compartment.

Guys need some help im looking for some tires atm. I've been suggested to run 265's but I would've much rathered 285's because they are a bigger tire and look better on the 3 imo. Is there a noticeable loss in mpg? I do have the i5 but i think i could run 285's no problem. I do slight off-roading so I'm looking for a progressive tread a/t tire any suggestions on tires?

BFG A/T KO is a great A/T tire. What originally came stock on the 2'S, think I got roughly 70k out of them and performed wwll

You can run 285's. Iowa is pretty flat. Just go right up to 315's! I can also vouch for BFG AT/KO's. Damn things won't wear out so I can get 35's!

I just had Toyo Open country ATIIs installed this week and so far I like everything about them on the road and for light wheeling off road.

I've been running 35s for about 4 years now and I get any where from 15-16.5 mpg. With stock 33s I was about 17.5-18.

Alright guys so i still need some suggestions. I refined the list tho
33's or 35's-which will be soon
Winch- any suggestions?
Horn- any suggestions
Rock rail-rocky road or smittybilt
Lift kit-torsion bar crank
PCM tune
Radio-pioneer
Back up camera-any suggestions?
Brush guard- any suggestions?
Roof rack-knight metal works or gobi, they seem pretty pricey tho might be looking for a cheaper one so still open for suggestions.
Okay i think thats it. I guess I'll ask again, what would you do to your h3 if starting from where im at right now which isn't much?

I notice your note on the roof rack. IMHO, sometimes things truly are worth the price tag. Buying something else as a placeholder just pulls money out of the fund for the rack you really want. I advise making a clear list of what you want, research each step, price each step, prioritize it, then work through your list step by step, and be patient. Side steps end up costing money and time! The knight metal works rack, looks soo good, saves the cost of figuring out jack storage, and gives you a solid platform both for everyday use as well as accessories. I've used my rack more than anything else on my rig minus tires. I always have stuff on it, and if you're into camping, you'll need it. A full roof rack on the H3 is worth it's weight in gold!
