The SoCal group had another great day taking a drive up Last Chance Canyon. As usual, the trail had changed quite significantly since our last visit.

The majority of us met in Santa Clarita to caravan to the trail head.

Medic_Morgan joined us in Mojave for his first outing. Once we got to the trailhead, Portager was waiting, along with a big Jeep club that was getting ready to tackle Nightmare Gulch, just up Last Chance Canyon.

All together, we had Nine vehicles in out group (6 H3s, an H3t, an H2 and an H1).

06H3 got a chance to try out his new spring over. I have to admit, I am quite impressed.

I have video that I need to clean up but will post it later.

Thanks for the kind words Craig! It was a great day...I can't wait for the next run

I have zero pictures, I was in the back for most of the day and seeing Jared, Kurt, Mike, and Craig with fancy cameras and go pros I felt I'd leave my iPhone in the cup holder on the run

That was definitely an great first time in my book. Guess I can add LCC as my "first" too lol. I really enjoyed meeting you all and hope to wheel again soon w/ most of you. After seeing everyone's mods in person and getting feedback I def foresee a call to my buddies custom shop for some UCP and some Sliders.

Craig thanks so much for the invite,
spotting and boosts of confidence. I don't think I would've done most of that w/o all your help.

I def feel like I'm a true H4O Forumer(thanks to stickers from Zach and Nacho ;) ). Also thanks Nacho for my first "trail spares". You really made me feel accepted by doing that.

Kurt you sold me on my next vehicle being an H1. You went ANYWHERE w/o even hesitation. Sooo bada$$. Now I just have to find someone who will take the wife's Civic as a trade-in lol

Shout out to newbie Ron. Glad I wasn't the only one who was new and hopefully Craig didn't scare him off too bad :) I have a video for him if he ever signs up.

06 and Bro of 06 I had a blast talking to you guys, your def chill dudes. When I move back down South next year we'll def have to do some wrenching on my rig together and if you hone those spring mount welds ;) then you'll def have some $$ coming from me in the future to do mine. Congrats Nick on the "Notch" that was pretty sweet skills going thru that. I have pics and some vids of it for you.

MrsCbetts thanks for the well wishes and I know next time I'll def bring the wife so you can both "oooo and aaaahhhh" together lol

Thanks for everything guys! I have pics on my phone so I can either post here or PM me if you want them via e-mail to edit(kinda a noob to taking iPhone vids and talking lol)

Sent from my secret lair bwaaahhahahahah

Kind words? Huh? Lol

He said I gotta admit, I was impressed with the spring over...that was nice of him to say. I did my own work on that project and it seemed to work well, just need to adjust a few things but otherwise so far so good

Thanks, once I get the spring over completely done I would be glad to help. Let me bash up those spring hangers, see what needs to be improved, what is good as is, etc. I am still in the testing phase. My #1 rule is reliability and streetablility. I wanna make sure this isnt trailered out and trailered home, it will be driven to the trail and be reliable enough to avoid the tow truck. Once I am done with the testing I would be glad to help. Once you move closer we could do day trips to gorman and even local trails. My brother and I have about 5 trails within 15 minutes of us and a lot more within a 30 min drive. We are both going to school and working (he starts a new job this week) so our days off are usually in the week, if we plan in advance we can request days off for weekend trips.

The sun was just setting when we made it back to pavement.

That gave us just enough sunlight to get aired back up and back on the road.

As usual, click on the images I have posted to view larger versions.

Uh huh. Sure. Likely story.

Probably enjoying a trail, keeping an eye out for OHV use outside of bounds, drinking and riding and looking for stuck cars...

We saw a nice oil slick there, looked like someone recently tried to drive a car through and tore the oil pan before they got to the rocks. Many GPS software shows it as a dirt road, so if you were trying to visit the mine and take a short cut via gps it'll get you in a bad spot.

I'll post some pics tonight.

We saw some Japanese/Chinese tourists coming back out of LCC on one of the trips awhile back. Guess they went in as far as they could and turned around. They were driving some basic rent car sedan. Bet it looked pretty bad underneath. It was pretty surprising they got as far in as they did but hey...it was a rent car. :)
