What's the point of lifted trucks? I don't get it... They're too big to do any wheeling (trails). Only good for mudding and 95% of the owners don't even take it mudding. They don't really serve a purpose besides being pavement princesses. What are your guys opinions on this?

My opinion, is i wish i could go with a larger lift. 4" Rancho lift isn't enough of lift for me. I don't do trails, just mudding. I guess i'm that small 5% that gets my H3 dirty.

A bit of lift and bigger tires can really help with offroad clearance. It's the guys with huge lift blocks that start to look goofy.

Some vehicles just need a lift to look correct. For example, a stock Chevy Avalanche looks almost lowered to me, with tires that look too small and no offroad clearance. Add a proper 6" lift and you can fit a set of 35" tires, gain a ton of clearance, and look great. Sometimes it's form AND function.

I personally think a lift in the 6 inch range with 35's-37's make a truck look like a truck should, versus what comes from the factory, just my opinion

my first 4x4 was a 74 Blazer that I lifted 16" and ran 44s under (mind you, this was 1987, so I really was pretty much the tallest thing out there).... and here's why, I loved digging deep furrows so my buddy in his CJ-5 would have to walk out. the back story - He kept on me about how his Jeep "just walked across the top and wouldn't get stuck in the ruts I created"... uh, no, but it did a pretty good titanic impression :shame:.

I must have made an impact on him, because for the last 20 or so years, the shortest truck he's had has been on 38s...

The mud here in Indiana smells like swamp a** haha. Plus it depends on how soupy the mud it, it its mostly brown water, its just doing to run off. Corn field mud will get ya covered in mud along with old corn stalks haha

more than 100 less than 500. nope, not kidding.... though lots of them were fix n flip cars.

The gentlemen that owns this rig is in the army. Granted, he cant go down tight trails, but he wheels in it quite often and is pretty much his daily driver. Mud, sand, and some rocky trails. Note, this picture was taken when I was running 33's, but this beast just towers over my rig.
