Lifted trucks?

What's the point of lifted trucks? I don't get it... They're too big to do any wheeling (trails). Only good for mudding and 95% of the owners don't even take it mudding. They don't really serve a purpose besides being pavement princesses. What are your guys opinions on this?

A lot of times they get them for looks. They just want their vehicle to turn heads just for show so they look badass. Which i have no problem with it is their vehicle they can do what they want. Just my opinion tho

Lifted trucks give you clearance. The question is how much. Sky high lifts are for sand and mud. But I see lifted trucks like I see Hummers: most owners only use it to conquer the mall parking lot and that's their choice.

Yeah I like lifted trucks and I think they look nice and all but it hit me that lifted trucks are pointless

Every other vehicle in my area is a lifted truck, Chevy, Dodge, Ford doesnt matter. 70% of them have 35s, chrome rims, 2wd. They are driven by "bros" the hardcore tough guy but they do wheel a few times a year. When it rains....then my brother and I go out and save all the stuck 2wd offroad looking trucks.

When you pull out a bro in your 4x4 your vehicle automatically gets its "brodozer" badge of honor.

And what's the point of blacking things out and using plastidip? Because you like the way it looks? Could that possibly be the same reason people lift their trucks?

Did you not know? Plasti dip adds 20hp to your truck haha... And I just think it's such a waste they spend all that money and don't even use it. Get a hummer or a jeep... That's just my opinion. You spend the same amount of money and you can actually use it to have fun

I am lifting mine so I have clearance. I get tired of hanging up on stuff on my favorite trails.

A psychologist might say we do it because we can't have babies. For some people it's a dick swinging contest. For others it's just having pride in your vehicle. Some people do it as followers and have to show off to everyone. Other people do it just because it's what they want and don't care if another soul ever knows about it.

Same reason people build V8 chain saws, 300mph motorcycles, and slam their car to the ground - Because it's cool! :)

I think lifting a vehicle that wheels is very important. The longer the wheelbase the more lift you should have. How can someone with 112in wheelbase at stock height keep up with a TJ that has a 94in wheelbase with 3in lift and 35s. Physics plays its part. a 4in lift for an H3 and 35s with a locker and 4:1 can take you on trails to the point where tire size limits you.

You have a great point there, I'm planing to hit HF and pushing myself. Frumaker can tell you for a fact I play it safe too much due to not enough XP.
