So, out of curiosity, I lifted the truck on a jack to see what my tolerances are. I noticed that my ABS sensor lines are just about at their end with the rear axle fully flexed. I am no concerned about the additional movement with the shock mount being higher up. No, this does not mean I am backing out, just think about what else I may need to do once I install the new mounts. Limit the axle with straps or extend the lines. I am also concerned about the sway bar links. I have heard of people popping these once they put in low-profile mounts.

Opinions?

What's you talking about Willis? I've never broken a single anti sway bar linkage. I broke three! I don't think the low profile shock mounts cause the anti sway bar linkage breakage because the stock shocks don't have downward limit stops. It seems to be a problem common to H3T's and may be exacerbated by the weight of my SlantBack and cargo slide. If you do start breaking linkages then it wouldn’t be too hard to add limit straps.

On the other hand, they do limit upward travel when they bottom out. So moving the mounts up will limit upward travel.

Any luck with the pics?

Not the greatest photo I have ever taken. The photo shows a definite difference but it looks much more dramatic in person. Also the tape measures are set at exactly the same high from the top.

It's hard to see but the High Clearance Mount is never lower than 7 inches, where as the factory is just barely under nine inches. So about 2 solid inches of better ground clearance.

Do your shocks fully compress before the axle hits the bump-stop? Seems like there would be some play room.

If I don't get in on the ground floor, will these be available down the road? I'm curious to let them get a shakedown and get install tips out there....I am curious though and will be in line for some later.

Any specific instructions for ease of install?

For the most part it is straight forward, except for the shock bolts.

Start by chocking the front tires, take into account which way the vehicle will roll depending on the ground that Hummer is on. Then support the weight of the Hummer by the body in such a way that only one tire has nearly no weight on the ground. Make sure the other tire is securely still on the ground for safety reasons. Now on the side of the Hummer where the tire that has nearly no weight on it you can being to undoing the factory u-bolts since the leaf spring shouldn't move much at all, also undo the factory shock bolt.

Once you have the factory leaf spring mount off, the sort of tricky part is to reverse the shock bolt because once the H3 High Clearance Leaf Spring Mount is bolted up the factory shock bolt will not be possible to bolt on. So simply start the bolt backwards with the shock and do not tighten down to the point where you can freely move the H3 High Clearance Leaf Spring Mount still. Just as a point of reference, the threads on the shock bolt will now point toward the center of the Hummer instead of away from. Now align the centering hole cutout so that it neatly fits over the bolt that holds the leaf spring pack together and snug it up, you will likely need to use some suggestive force from a hammer or mallet at this point.

Finally use the aftermarket U-bolts that I have supplied you with to bolt the H3 High Clearance Leaf Spring Mount to the axle. Keep in mind that you need to properly seat the U-bolts on the raised metal so you do not dig into the axle tubing. And then very last thing is to do is to finish tightening the shock bolt.

You're now down on this side repeat for the other.

I plan to do a video of this, but it has been raining nonstop lately, but soon. PM me with you phone number and I'll be happy to walk you through and trouble you might have (this goes for anyone).

Ya it's no big deal if you're not in on the ground floor, I hope to build stuff like this for years to come. I'll try to post up a video in the next few days or so.

So just wondering, if you were to order oem brackets what would those cost vs. these. I want these but need ways to convince the boss hahaha. I found out yesterday my left rear shock mount is bent so I need to replace them anyway.

Just make the argument that replacing OEM means you'll eventually have to buy another in xxxx miles when they bend again ;) plus holding these beasts in you hand is nothing like the pics. Freaking TOUGH
