Hummer h2 build ideas

My current itinerary for upgrades as as follows

1)Gears - Scheduled for next week, super excited

2)Tune - get gears transmission and dash all corrected. Engine tune of course, maybe get Corvette Servo for transmission

Not sure if order on #3 and #4 could go either way

#3 fix oil leak, believe it to be oil pan, replace oil pump for maintenance, I know LQ4s have a spotty record past 200k miles for oil pump life so may as well replace oil pan gasket and get a new front main/oil pump up there.

#4 I think my accident I had knocked my steering box up and there’s a popping noise that appears to be coming from the output, I’m not overly concerned immediately but I will be doing a redhead steering box, which should last for life.

#5 Rear axle lower control arms

#6Rubber duck brush guard?

I think I would prioritize anything in my steering system that doesn’t seem right. Failure at 70 mph would not be good.

I’ve looked up the issue and apparently it’s very rare(For steering boxes as a whole), the two people I found that had the same issue said theirs had been popping for over 100k miles in both cases. So I’m not overly concerned about adding 5000 or so miles in the mean time.

Rebuilt cases seem to universally be flaming piles so I want to get a couple things out of the way before the redhead box.

If it gets worse it will move up the list but it’s not like a loose ball joint bad.

Milam jr. How many will that sleep and is it pretty comfortable. How do u like it?

I think it is the size of a queen size bed. We went to a state park last night and it really slept good for a RTT. We rolled the inside and outside flaps up to just use the mosquito nets and the ventilation was really good.

I got a special price since I preordered the tent and awning. Check with these guys. They are in Alabaster, Al.

I got on the wait list with someone else back in December. The shipment recently landed from South Africa then things started to get a little crossed up so they referred me to Derrick since he was close by and it worked out great.

There are some good reviews for this RTT on YouTube. I first saw it on Jailbreakoverlander’s channel.

Since I got this one I am going to sell my Smittybilt RTT. Only used it a few times. Only issue with it is the straps that hold the cover on are broken so they need to be replaced. I just use a couple of ratchet straps.

I would let it go for $500 to get it out of the garage.

Has anyone done onboard air for their H2? I’ve made it a habit to typically stick near beach’s that have free city air available, but that limits me.

Most gas station air pumps have very low CFM, even the good gas station air pumps are slow for 37” tires.

Since I’ve removed my air bags, using the compressor space in the rear seems like it would be a good spot to add onboard air. Would like to know what others have done.

Thought about it and decided to go with a power tank due to reliability and ability to run air tools.
