I'm working on coming down. I may even have a friend with an H2 follow. With the dogs I have a lot of logistics to work out. Hans may stay with a sitter. He's just too eager to chase Jeeps and bikes. Besides he's turning 7 years old in February.

It's also 2-3 weeks later than we normally meet in April. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

So, I looked up on the Moab calendar to see if there are any special events that are drawing in people. Nothing really, but on April 19th and 20th (Sat/Sun) it is National Park opening weekend so admission to Canyonlands and Arches is free.

Also, the Moab Car show starts on Friday the 25th, so that could be part of the rate issue.

You can add me to list. I will be bringing the family again so me and my wife plus two kids. I will likely leave Sally and Alex at the camp grounds again. I may try to bring them a couple days. We are looking at renting a cabin instead of towing the camper.

I don't think a 4 to 1 case is in the cards but the rear will be locked. If anyone happens on to a good prise on the low gear t case let me know.

I had a lot of fun last year. I will bring some more home brews. Have a honey ale and barley wine fermenting right now. May try a jalapeño creme ale.

Will be arriving on Friday the 18th leaving Saturday 26th.

Thank you Jake. If for some reason something comes up and you can't make it, could you please still ship the beer to the Outpost? jk.

Looks like I'll be there Tuesday. I'll be picking up my Motel and bringing with me. Just need to figure out where to park it.
I'll be picking this up tomorrow, 06 Fleetwood Evolution E2.:)

I am going to check the dates the the GF is taking off to go to Hawaii for a family wedding that I couldn't previously make it to... perhaps I can make the 2,800 mile round trip solo style and join this rag tag team of hummer owners for my first Moab experience!

I hope you can make it happen RamRod. It's a trip you will never regret making and will want to go back again. Great wheeling, great times and more importantly, some great people you will meet - like me! You can't afford not to make it!

Hehe.. you're an attorney and I'm in sales...... maybe that's why we get along

Better yet Mikkel, I'd like to think that we get along so well because we have a lot in common and happen to just be great people. Please don't burst my bubble! LOL!

Okay it's high on my radar, I am trying to make sure I am able to commit ASAP so I can start planing, one ting holding me back is that I had plans to drive down to the SW and tour back up the West coast later in the year over a span of a month..

Are you able to random camp with a RTT or do you need to stay in a camp ground?

No need to random camp. Just reserve a spot at the Outpost (Neo's estate) by posting it here and show up with your RTT. You will have some great company camping out there AND more importantly, easy access to a grease gun if 06 H3 is able to make it is his year! LOL!

Thanks guys! Hope I can make it work as well!

Haha since I joined I have been reading all sorts of comments about the grease gun... I am worried about asking the story behind this!! I could make some guesses what that's all about I suppose!

I have looked into if I can fit this into my schedule and so far so good. The exams for the night classes I am taking are two weeks earlier, work is fine with me taking that time off.

So as it stands there is nothing major, that I know of, that stands in the way of me making it down there other than committing!

Some things I will need to consider:

  • If I am driving alone it will take me two days as I doubt I could last much longer than driving 16 hours a day
  • If I convince a friend to tag along then there are two of us & we'll be able to drive in shifts and get there in 21 hours (according to Google maps)
  • It will be about $1,000 in fuel for the trip there and back
  • It's approx 4,500km's (2,800 miles) round trip
  • I would need to get my protection mods all finished off and functional... no big deal there lots of time to do that
  • I would prefer to have my trailer done in that time so I can leave it set up at the outpost
  • I would have to bring you guys some delicious Canadian Beer! (am much as they let me cross the boarder with anyway):klink
  • I could see if any of the local 4x4 clubs are doing a run down there at the time and tag along with them so I am not a lone wolf for 4 days of driving:yippee

:)
So basically I don't see why I wont make it down!!!

I am going to try and find a friend that's able to take that time off and get him to drive down with me!

Can I book a spot at the Outpost??:yay
