has anyone delt with the following shop ever?

Treadway Tire Service35 E. Grand Ave.
Moab, UT 84532

(435) 259-9416

I am thinking of ordering tires through these guys and getting them installed on my first day in Moab so I'll have some fresh meat for the trails (going to need new rubber badly by the time I get down there!)

They went out of business about four years ago. Outlaw Jeep took over their location, across Grand from City Market; behind the car wash.

At one time Chip's was the only place in town; now you have two other choices.

I recommend this one: http://www.tirefactory.com/moab been doing a lot with them with BLM trucks and I purchased my Coopers for my Silverado from them.

There is also, Mad Pro Sports (located where Moab 4x4 used to be, south of NEO's place on hwy 191).

I would recommend calling all three and getting their best price for the tires you want. And if dealing with Chip, before they mount the tires you might want to check the manufacture data and afterward, make damn well sure the idiots working there at least tighten all the lug nuts. Of course you will hear them rattling inside the lug nut center cover when they come off; hopefully before the wheel leaves the vehicle!

Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in a while, but I saw this thread and I'm interested in going. I've never been to Moab so I mentioned it to my fiancé and we'd be able to make it the 25th-27th. Will there be any groups heading out on trails on those dates?

You'll definitely have people there on Friday but Saturday and Sunday could be a bit thinner. More of the group is present earlier in the week.

I don't think I will get to Moab until Monday night or Tuesday morning, so I might stay and do an extra day or two. It will depend on how the truck is feeling though.

Good news; nick (my brother) is officially in for Moab good news is that I am too. Bad news: a co worker is getting married on the 19th so a lot of people are off that day which means I have to work. So no caravan for me :( I will request an early shift to leave by mid day Saturday

LOL, I started doing the calculations...If we leave 8 hours later then you and you guys average 55 mph with a break every 2 hours and we do 75 mph with a break every 3 hours when will we get there compared to you guys?

Trust me, I would rather caravan with you. A) Its fun B) The MPG I see going out there is usually record highs for squeaky. C) Its nice to have multiple rigs in case of issues.

The MPG is gonna suck driving faster but I wanna get to moab quicker seeing were running behind!!! I guess I cant bitch, I got the time off. I will be there even if its a half a day later. I may go to the head honcho at work and ask if he can make an exception to give me saturday off. We will see...

Either way I am officially going to moab, with my brother, who gets scared of tippy **** :) This should either stop his fear or he will freak out and walk down moab rim like Zach. :giggle:

I havent seen a ton of you in a year!! Time flies, normally I see the so cal people more often but I think the last time I saw you Dave was in moab, its been too long.

Definitely. I think I have wheeled once in Texas since Moab in October. That was in Mike's H1 at HF. Freezing cold, wet nasty day but at least I didn't have to clean the truck after we were done. :)

Updated a few of the attendees on the first page. Still not sure what my dates are but likely getting to Moab late Friday night and leaving Tues or Wed. Lots of stuff going on in 2014 and I don't have as many days to spare.

Ok I'm doing my best to convince the future wife to go at the beginning of the week instead of the weekend. She wants to go, it's just the whole time off work thing. One question for the Moab veterans, will an all terrain tire be good or should I make sure I have my km2s on for the trails?

Most ATs work fine in Moab. Slick rock is a misnomer, it actually provides great traction and AT tires do well there. KM2tires are awesome and handle Moab very well but if you are running BFG, Dueller , etc you will be fine.

Awesome! I'm in the middle of putting Toyo Open Country AT2s because I have bad death wobble with the BFGs, but they have enough tread for wheeling still.

Finished up complete cooling system overhaul on Behimoth, fender wells and front grill coming back from paint shop next week, finishing installing BigHoss kit tomorrow.
So I'll be towing GMC (h2 won't be ready till may and I don't think T is ready)

Ok so it's been a few weeks of working on work schedule and personal issues and looks like I might be able to make it work! What do I have to do to be able to join the team?????
