The thing that concerns me the most right now is the administration seems to have taken the divide and conquer approach by starting really leaning on state legilters in some states to influence state laws. Once this is done they can then lean on Senators & Reps with your state already passed some restrictions so you should vote for national controls.

Saw where the owner of Magpul has said he WILL relocate the company out of CO if the pass the new gun control bill. It has passed their house and their Dem governor has said he would sign it. Right now they have the votes in the CO Senate to pass the bill by one vote. Puts a lot of pressure on those guys to see $85mm in expenditures and hundreds of jobs leave the state. I know Texas has offered to pay their relocation expenses if they move there. CO used to be a decent state. Guess to many CA transplants have f^#ked the place up.

It won't be long until the Western US will become neutered and we become just like NY, Mass, CT, IL...

I cannot blame only those transplants, as my very own brother and sister-in-law (who are also natives), support these liberal anti-gun views. I don't know what happened. I cannot bring myself to tell my 86 year old Father what is happening to this state. He has dementia so he can comprehend bits and pieces, but doesn't remember too much in the current time frame. During a 10 minute conversation, he will ask the same question three times.

So let's see if I have this right,,,,, the Aurora gunman had his choice of 7 movie theaters to shoot up, all about the same distance from his home. He chose the only one that was gun free so he wouldn't get shot while committing his dastardly deed. The local response was to create MORE gun free zones!?!?!? Really? Does anyone involved have anything over a room temperature IQ?

There you go using common sence and logic again and that does not work in a liberal mind.

In the past 90 days I have dramatically reduced my TV news intake. My blood pressure is lower and my mood has improved. I catch the basics from MSN and a little Sirius Fox News. I just can't take the endless rehash of every word. I'm glad I am as old as I am, I think my country is falling into Socialism. The mid term elections coming up is 20 months will be a tipping point. If the House goes to the Democrats we are done for.

I have been sitting on the sidelines of this debate for a long time, listening, reading and trying to form my own opinion. As some of you know, I grew up in another country where the culture is different and there is no constitutional protections for owning firearms that I'm aware of.

To me, this talk about limiting access to firearms, limiting magazine sizes, etc ought to be a moot point. The constitution and its amendments says what it says. There can be no debate about that, and that ought to be the end of it. If someone disagrees with the constitution, maybe they should work through the political process and start by trying to change the constitution, and good luck with that.

Make no mistake: I *do* understand that many people want to do something to try and prevent despicable horrors like Sandy Hook etc from ever happening again but infringing on the constitution is, in my opinion, not the way to go about it.

Apparently "shall not be infringed" is not clear enough English for some people. It doesn't help that the Supreme Court has decided it can be limited (where's that thesaurus?) so now the argument is "how much?"

I dunno.. "shall not" is pretty clear to me.....

Edit: I'll refrain from getting up on my soap box about other issues where the constitution is, in my opinion, being eroded. -That's probably a discussion better had with a cool beer in hand, around a campfire. Oh wait... I see that exact situation in my very near future :-D
