The Gun Control Debate - A Place for Your Perspective

All that reminded me about one old USSR anecdote. To understand it you need to know a bit of the history. After "Bolshevik war" all weapons where outlawed, all that followed by really strict lows to the point you can not kill or injure someone in self defense.(So if you got attacked and you accidentally killed attacker in act of self defense you will be trialed for murder.) Even do police is allowed to carry gun, they where not allowed to shoot back unless being fired upon. So, if you are a police officer and you are being attacked by a criminal without a gun, you not allowed to shoot him...
So that's where the anecdote came from and pretty much based on real thing.

INSTRUCTION FOR FEMALE OFFICERS IN CASE OF RAPE ATTACK

If you are by yourself and being attacked by someone with a purpose of raping, you have to act base on this rules. Step#1 - Notify attacker that you are a police officer and command him to stop. If that did not help follow to step#2 - Scream out loud that you are being attacked. If no fellow officers came to your assist follow to step#3 - Pull out your gun and give a verbal notice that you will shoot. If that didn't help follow to step#4 - Make one warning shot above attackers head and make second verbal notice to stop. If that still did not stop the attacker follow to step#5 - Throw away your gun, lay down, relax and try to enjoy.

Neo,

It is the Californication of Colorado. What I mean is that the liberal agenda of the Chicago political machine is being funded by Hollywood. Media has placed the bias squarely supporting the agenda of the Democratic Party.

The Republican Party, i.e. the GOP, (Grand Old Party, but today = Good Old Party) has spent way too much time glad handing and back slapping each other in Washington DC to notice that everyone attending their events is over 65 and white.

Meantime, the Democrats have been holding rallies (organizing) in the neighborhoods and asking "what can we do to help you." The social organizers help the schools; they help create parks and skateboard areas. They buy computers for the schools (in the 80's and 90's), slowly turning the minds of the school administration and the teachers toward what the organizers want.

Think about when you are with a group of friends, one naturally succumbs to "group think" and even if you don't really agree with the idea, one goes along because they are your friends.

That is how we became the America of today.

(IMHO, of course)

Colorado is lost. This is serious. I hope in the end as a whole we can survive but it sounds like BO has gone all in on gun control and he is putting all his efforts into this before he hits us full on with immigration.

Talking with some Coloradians they doubt anything bad will pass since there are some democrats in conservative areas who want to keep their jobs. And if they don't do what they are supposed to do, then in a few years, it will return to normal.

And yes, Obama is showing his true colors as an anti-gun moron, just like his daddy, Joe Biden. He kept his views out of the light until he got re-elected and then along comes a tragedy that he will use this tragedy for his destruction of the 2nd amendment.

Doug,

This Coloradoan does not think that the loyal Democrats (even those on the western slope and SLV) would ever stand up against the liberal 'Looper machine. If they really were going to vote as the constituants demanded, we would not have that carpet bagger twins 'looper and Bennet. They would have not made it past the initial exploratory discussions.

We have lost the basic Colorado values that I grew up on. Unfortunately, this is not the first time in Colorado history that the Dems have been bought out by unions. Read the history of the Colorado Rangers, and then the initial years of the Colorado Courtesy Patrol, (became the Colorado State Patrol) but many, many years later. The years 1927-1935, Columbine Mine, Gov Billy Adams, for your Google search.

Either way, the times are changing.

Honestly, I could care less what happens in CO. I just had this discussion with some residents of CO this past weekend; one from Montrose, one from Walden, both have more guns than some NG units. And neither seemed worries. I only worry about Utah; where I live!

I wasn't smacking on you. I was just saying that I have learned that just when you think it cannot get any worse, it does.

Tonight the news was running a story that one of the "elected officials" in the Colorado legislation submitted legislation to make adultery legal.

This is over the top.

If I had a job, we would pack up and move to Utah. We already have our food storage. Preppers - not LDS.

one of the things that helped me decide on moving to Utah is that it's a very conservative state. with the history of mormon persecution i can't see them caving into the anti-gun crowd. when a state or any type of government openly declares open season on you for your beliefs you tend to know exactly what the 2nd ammendment is all about.

i'm not mormon or anti-mormon. i'm pro-freedom of speech, faith, and right to bear arms along with the rest of that thing we call our constitution.
with obummer's kill lists and drone wars we must be vigilant and steadfast.

Just my view as a conservative hippy child of the 60's
Don't Tread on Me, and i won't tread on you :peace: thru superior :ba:i know we are out gunned but i will die trying

Missouri Executive Order 44, also known as the "Mormon Extermination Order" ( alt. exterminating order) in Latter Day Saint history, was an executive order ...

This type of legislation will only accelerate the coloration of the country. Blue states will get bluer and red states will get redder. There are getting to be a lot of places in this country that I couldn't live. Never thought I would have to say something like that.

Neo we hear you. I had a very interesting conversation with our 85 yo Dad who is retired military who told me this weekend that they will not take his guns. I really do not believe they know the true spirit and determination of the American people.

Half the
people in the poll on Military.com said they would shoot us if we resisted the government. At least they said they would consider it a lawful order to shoot us if we forcibly resisted the government on something like gun confiscation. Hopefully never gets to that point.

I live in UT, but I DO care what happens in CO, CA, NY, IL, etc. Whether or not it directly affects me, it's a sign of the way the country is headed. The only thing good that can come out of these state gun bans is the extremely unlikely possibility that a federal law could be passed that guarantees our rights. Something like a Federal CCW that trumps state laws and allows a full 50 state carry, that kind of thing.

Don't trust that website. They are very far to the left on everything.
