Dana Spicer-Select F Drive Shaft CV?

I considred buying the Dorman, but, 1) I've had spotty luck with Dorman parts. Some have been great. Others ..could have been better. It would be nice if Dorman gave some detailed info why their unit, being 2x more expensive, ...was worth the extra $$. Then I may have bought it. 2) I felt the...

Dana Spicer-Select F Drive Shaft CV?

Good question. I put my calipers to them both. The measurements of the Spicer CV body are the same..and flange thickness is the same, etc. The metal frame of the seal (the front part) cones down and is about 1/4" smaller at the front than the original GM. IDK that that should make any...

Dana Spicer-Select F Drive Shaft CV?

Anyone use these? What was your experience? I recently bought one off Rock Auto ..to rebuild my old front DS ...$79. I no longer see a GM/Delco CV available, and haven't for a while. I bought a new GM driveshaft 2 yrs ago when they were avail, so my goal is to re-do my old D/S and keep as a...

H3 headlights and driving lights going dim to bright

LOL ...ok sounds like you've looked into pretty deep.

Power Door lock switches and driver window wont operate.

Short answer: Switch, Grounds, Batt connections, Door wires. Longer explanation: You can try replacing the switch...module. That might solve the problem long-term (hopefully) ...or maybe not. The module is a computer module (part of the switch assembly) which controls the windows locks and even...

    H3 Hog Rings front seat

I think 1/2 or 7/16" is the most common on upholstery. If you have a Tractor Supply near you, I found they have the best price and a good hog ring pliers pretty inexpensively (in stock). I just re-did a pickup truck seat last summer. I used 7/16" which matched the OEM rings. Wasn't too difficult...

H3 headlights and driving lights going dim to bright

I would check: 1) Grounds - Grounds are so critical on modern vehicles. There are likely wire harness grounds up by the bulbs on the header panel. In rusty WI they can go bad. Check/clean any grounds, And, engine/body grounds as well as the + side. 2) Alternator Pulley - It's possible the...

    Front CV axle upgrade?

If I had to guess, they'd be made by AAM. American Axle & Manufacturing. They do a lot of OEM for different mfgrs. I know for sure my GM replacement F driveshaft had an AAM sticker under the Delco sticker. I suspect the front axle bearing/hubs were AAM's too. But I don't have any proof of those.

    H3 sold

Eventually nearly all owners will eventually move onto another rig. A guy has to really WANT to be into an H3 at this point. And have great mechanical skills (or deep pockets). I've told a lot of guys who come up to me and say, "Hey, I was thinking of getting one of those...", they're better off...

    H3 Speakers or Head Unit

Also, if you bought different aftermarket speakers, they might be of the same ohms, (or not).... but not close to the same sensitivity, for example, as the OEM speakers and therefore not be as loud as what it came with. Look again at what you took out, on the back of the magnet, should be...

    H3 Speakers or Head Unit

Here's something else... little easier to install probably. IDK if your Radio has XM or not, or if it works with the older GM radios. I just ran across it. There are also antenna B/T units...

    H3 Speakers or Head Unit

Sure! There are lots of ways to add bluetooth to a stock head unit. A popular and elegant method is to tap into the unit and add a bluetooth board to a certain input. The guy who had my H3 before me added a 'wired module' to the LCD/Map GM version head unit (Monsoon) that came with some H3's. He...

    Heat

You almost got to get a 'real solid' temp reading with, ideally, a separate mechanical gauge, or at least an IR gun, so you know what you're dealing with in real numbers that are trustworthy. Is the temp in the right neighborhood, or not ...I think is what it comes down to. There could be a...

    Heat

Did you ever put an infrared temp gun at the engine outlet hose and see what it's actually running at? You can simply ohm out the temp sensor and compare the readings to a temp chart (for Colorado/H3). Do it engine cold/engine hot. Also ensure the body grounds are solid. Unless there was some...

Starts, shuts down after a second, and wipers start going...

Ricky... try to keep your spirit up. I can see how this would be frustrating. There' still nothing out there like an H3. Sound like your daughter is about the same age as ours. Hopefully your mechanic will find something under the fuseblock, or nearby. Or a wire short/bad ground. They can be...

    Rusted rocker panels

Their work looks great. If they can spray some rust-proofing (or oil) inside them, that would help you tremendously in the future. Do they use road salt in Luxembourg?

    new transfer case purchase questions

Alpha's had the cast iron front diffs. Did I ever tell you guys how I once took a family trip from WI to the black hills (You're area LSHummer!) and back ...~2000 miles of driving. Many years ago. Saw all the sights. ...With almost no oil in the transfer case?! LOL You see... I had checked the...
