Any updates on these mounts? Any trail riding with them to see how they held up?

I haven't heard a peep from anyone, so I'm assuming they are kicking butt. I, personally, haven't had a single issue with mine and I would definitely be the first one to brake these. If you ask around about me when I off-road they will probably say that I made them very nervous with the things I do with my Hummer.

Sorry. I probably won't be reporting back since I happen to pick up a pair of tomp mounts.

No worries, I would rather have you choose the products you think are best to build you H3 with. Any particular reason why you choose tomp mounts over mine? or modification to the current design that would have you choose my design again?

Redesign in the works, should make them look much more professional and stronger.

Schwarttzy,

I have the mounts that you sent me in July of 2011. I have not installed them yet, you told me to have 4wheel parts install them, but I see this new design and wonder if I should not install these older style and order the new ones. What's your thought, do you get more clearance with the new design. Are they stronger? Easier to install? Have there been failure in the ones I have, or are the new ones just a better design?

I thought I managed to get all of my High Clearance Leaf Spring mounts back and modify them with additional metal pieces. However if you have the first design that doesn't include the additional bracing similar to the photos above, I recommend that you ship them back to me. As long as you pay for shipping, I'll weld on the additional pieces and ship them back free of charge, even powder coat them again if you paid for it.

I haven't had any failures, but you cannot use the factory torque specs, something I over looked. I ran that version for months on my own H3, and even wheeled on it with no problems, but I would rather weld the additional metal on.

The newest design is mainly to improve the look of the finished product and make it much quicker for me to weld together. The slots mean that I won't have to take and measurements or have pieces shift when putting the heat to the metal. It will however be stronger, not that they need it. The design won't be any easier to install and the dimension overall will be the same.

Thanks Schwarttzy,

I will send them out today or tomorrow. Is the return address the same as ship address?

I just left FedEx and they are on their way to you. I am hoping to get them back in time to get them installed in time to get to Moab at the end of this month. Whatever you can do is greatly appreciated, thanks Schwartzzy.

Sounds good, I'll do my best to have these done as fast as possible.

I don't recall the instruction details but we may be able to help you install those while in Moab if you don't get them ahead of time. Assuming of course that you have the u-bolts, nuts, plates, etc. Just need to see if anyone would have a cut off wheel for the extra bolt length.

PCH3 - apparently you might not own the plates he produces. I received a package from Tonna containing "TomP Low Profile Plates". They are safe here with me

I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with them and are stronger than any other plates available and quite possibly stronger than any plates that you will ever see in our lifetime:)

I'm leaving for Hawaii on vacation in the morning for a week, so please don't think I am ignoring you.

The plates rock, I have them installed on my H3. On my way to Hawaii today as well!
