I bought the pro comps and they sucked. I went back to OEM shocks
For the H3, I haven't heard anything good about ProComp or Rancho. Ironically, simple shocks like Monroe seem to not offend anyone but OEM, Bilstein and Fox tend to get the best reviews (in no particular order there).
Just ordered some 5160's for the front
I have a set of Bilstein 5100s that I'm installing this week. Out of curiousity, what's the difference between 5100 and 5160s. Doesn't matter anymore for myself, but just as a future reference or for others?
I have to disagree. The Monroe shocks allow too much movement (especially after a 2" t-bar and shackles lift) and are softer than stock shocks. I have a video of me on Monroe's coming down a hill and swaying and bouncing everywhere while a buddy on stock shocks was much more controlled.I have Monroe Reflex on my truck now. They are perfect. Big improvement over stock. Not to stiff but they are stiffer than stock. They are cheap and come with a lifetime warranty.
Are the 5160s on a 4" lift ? If so can you provide the model numbers for front and back? I've placed my order for 5160s front and back since July and Bilstein keeps pushing the availability date (now they are telling me it should be available in Jan). I ordered ones spec'd for a 4" lifted Silverado. I am getting in patient and would like to install my lift kit and shocks already. Any suggestions?I run the 5160s hard and they dont fade! Previously ran the 5100s and eventually they fade, but outside of 70 mph in the desert, the 5100s are more than sufficient (and softer)
I still run 5100s on the I5 and I find the ride softer on it than the 5160s on the alpha!
Stock height (tbar crank) so I cant help u there...Are the 5160s on a 4" lift ? If so can you provide the model numbers for front and back?
