It has been a war for 30 years and will continue to be. We are in real trouble if one of the Conservative justices gets replaced by Obama or a succeeding Dem President. I have a feeling that a lot of those union member hunters and firearm fans in PA, OH, WS, MI, VA are second guessing their vote.

Most of the union guys I ever knew actually thought the 2nd amendment was about hunting deer. Most weren't too smart and that's the reason they were working an assembly line. I only know of two who really hated the union stance on demoncrats,

Another reason to own guns. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Athens_(1946)
The Battle of Athens (sometimes called the McMinn County War) was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, United States, against the local government in August 1946. The citizens, including some World War II veterans, accused the local officials of political corruption and voter intimidation. The event is sometimes cited by firearms ownership advocates as an example of the value of the Second Amendment in combating tyranny.

There is an excelent youtube video on this but I can't access it from this computer.

I voted in their poll. 91% said there would not be a total gun ban in the next 10 years. That article details the liberal mindset. Get what you can, when you can until you have every type of firearm from every owner. If you believe that they want anything less you are delusional. If not for a mildly conservative leaning Supreme Court we likely would have seem our gun rights gutted. Don't think for a second that Kagan or Ginsberg would vote for the validity of the 2nd Amendment. The liberals on the court are political hacks that will consistently undermine the Founder's intentions.

I didn't see this one on feinstein's assault weapon target list. Very interesting to think of what other calibers could be used.

All this gun stuff has made me gun crazy.

I'm not going to pay those obscene AR prices, so I went and bought myself a marlin 30-30 lever action through a private sale which was cool to actually get the gun and shoot it the very day I decided to buy one. I literally walked into a gun store picked up a beat-up 30-30 and this guy pounced on me with the 30-30 he wanted to trade in but wasn't offered a good price. Long story shortened, this gun has impressed me so much with it's accuracy, styling, and the sheer joy of ejecting a spent cartridge that I bought another. I have the Marlin 45-70 Lever Action being delivered to my local gun store in 2.5 weeks.

I picked up my first guns yesterday.

Got AR lower receivers from Smith and Wesson [lucked out, I was in taking a hunting class and the store got restocked at that moment and I got a few at retail]. I got a line on a nice LMT upper, but it may have gotten sold out from under me, I'll know by Sunday
:gaah:

I'd figure things will be nuts with AR's for at least another 6 months, so I picked up some rimfire to go shooting with, Ruger 10/22 and a 22/44 Mark 3 pistol. When my back gets better I want to go to a few rimfire competitions out in Piru.

just read this somewhere and thought it was a pretty good opinion of where we are now. :gaah: i wish there was a Libertarian-Anarchists Party. i say "restore liberty thru anarchy" hey it's a start

found on the inter-web :

"It is brilliant what has happened in this country over the last decade. Bush gets to massively degrade our civil liberties thanks to 9/11. His administration takes things as far as they can. So far that the public starts objecting. Finally.

But they're not done. And they're not gonna give up. So, instead of continuing with the Republicans, they find a Democrat puppet who Liberals will support no matter what he does. Sure, he's got no experience. He's just a state senator when they find him.

But some teleprompter training. A speech at the 04 convention. A few ancient Madison Avenue tricks. And he's transformed into the greatest thing since the invention of things.

He gets elected. Continues with the agenda. As expected liberals go along with everything. Republicans have been discredited so they have no power to stop him.

And, shockingly, even on a place like ATS people think a real change of power occurred. And that "their guy" won or lost. Sorry, Charlie, you don't have a guy. You've been duped, bamboozled, and hoodwinked, as Malcolm X once said. And most Americans not only didn't see it happen, they helped it go down"

I was talking to a liberal the other day. I swear if B.O. came and **** on his desk every day. Then told him this is as it should be. He'd happily let it happen and even smile while cleaning it up.
We are so screwed.
