so at 187k miles, the leaking steering rack finally got replaced... along with the front output shaft seal of the t-case (which had been slinging fluid everywhere for a few thousand miles).

and mid-job, we recognized that the ball joints & passenger-side front diff bushing are shot. got new ones + control arms & wheel bearings on the way for next week. that's a lot of fixing money for a truck that ain't worth a whole lot nowadays :(

Cheaper than a new one by a long shot and you're good for another few years.

So this time my Hummer got some new chassis protection, rust treatment an wax at front, after the body mounts on driver and passenger side got cleaned, rust treatment and new all round welded ...just in case ;)
Then painted again all in black with ...eh like Rustoleum paint
Now my Hummer is 10 years younger again  made by my professional Buddy , in his garage (he loves oldies and US trucks)

Few pics

Just got home from a road trip to Quebec 9 hour drive 1 way to pick up the rock sliders from citiboy. And then today I Removed the chrome step bars and the factory plastic fender liners for tomorrow's trip to Krown rust preventive appointment. Then I will be mounting my new OEM rock sliders this weekend.

Found what was squeaking from the rear in Sand Hollow. Rear pads are worn down and uneven. Both lower slide pins were seized, and the rubber rings had deteriorated and stopped the pins from moving.

Re doing the wire loom and upgrading the battery cables to 2 gauge.
